TRENDING: Palin won't 'waste time' on Couric

(CNN) – If Sarah Palin does run for president next year, at least one high profile journalist will be forbidden access to the former Alaska governor.

Speaking to Fox New's Sean Hannity in an interview to air Monday, Palin said she wants nothing to do with Katie Couric, the CBS Evening News anchor who's line of questioning facilitated one of the most memorable political foibles of the 2008 presidential campaign.

"As for doing an interview, though, with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that I would come out and say? Why waste my time? No," Palin told Hannity of Couric, according to excerpts obtained by Time's Mark Halperin.

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting," Palin continued. "I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."

In a series of interviews with Couric authorized by the McCain campaign, Palin stumbled over a number of questions, most memorably when asked, "When it comes to establishing your world view…what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?"

Palin appeared unable to name a single publication – a performance for which she was much maligned - and later said she found the question insulting, as well as emblematic of a liberal slant in the mainstream media.

"So a journalist, a reporter who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy, I swear to you, I will not my waste my time with her. Or him," she told Hannity in the interview Monday.

She can dish it, but she can't take it.. Couric was asking legitimate questions of someone seeking national office. Whine, whine, Palin.

i agree with Palin! Couric is a shill for the left. She made Palin look bad in an interview and does not do the same to dems.
in Texas, Governor Rick Perry decided to bypass the Major Daily Newspapers, because their BIAS! All endorsed his opponent
in the primary and the general election. Governor Perry WON!
You see, the press is biased. Why waste a time with someone who will fabricate stories, mislead the reader and
    malign the individual? I agree.
Voters are not stupid. You saw the change in Washington and Texas this cycle. Wait for 2012!

I have to hand it to her, she is not afraid of sounding stupid. Good thing she's cute or no one would listen to her.

If you're not gonna play fair, then I'm just gonna take my ball and go home you nasty person you.

WAH, WAH, WAH....great presidential material. Can't you see the head of some rogue state direct attacking Palin? Her response: "he insulted me so I am not going to answer him – he doesn't play FAIR"

What a complete and total idiot. Either she wants to be the president of ALL the people or she won't be the president period. She has learned the Limbaugh/Beck/O'Reilly formula for making money – say outrageously stupid things and make more money for doing so.

She could care less about America – she has heard the "K-CHING" of her omnipresence and it massages her EGO to infinity.

If Hannity is the only one she's doing interviews with she will not gain much credibility for her possible upcoming run for President. Sorry she'll be toasted by the media if she refuses legitimate interviews by real journalists.

You tell 'em Sarah. You stick to your guns and speak to reporters who are fair and open-minded....like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levine, and Michael Savage. Oh wait, Savage thinks you are too liberal. Maybe you can get Karl Rove to talk to him. Oh wait, Karl thinks you are an SNL routine gone bad.

I thought Katie was very fair when she did not laugh in your face.

unreasonable. so, if you ask her a question to find out more about her, and she finds that question to be a stumper, then, you've put a liberal twist on it and you know nothing about journalism, like she does, with her big B.A. in communications. i knew a woman who parties thru her communications 'major' and has a degree now after attending less than 50% of her classes. Education IS still important, Sarah, but not for twisting to match your own teeny tiny brain. god bless those libs who take her tongue lashings without any merit on her side. sheesh. unchristian too i might add, to attack baselessly, or at all. when will we laugh this woman away?!?!?

  13. Randolph Carter, I'm no expert, but...

The shrieking cow must be smarter than Obama. After all, she went to 5 schools and he only went to one. Have a nice day!

Oh poor Sarah. They asked her a question that she just might have to think about. Are you going to cry me a river now, Sarah? Give me a freakin break.

And don't even get me started about Newt. Just when I thought that man had gone away – he's back! Uugh!

Palin is absolutely right…She should devote her time to something more within her intellectual capabilities…like coloring books and burning crosses.

Before the Palin interview, doing Couric was considered a walk in the park. These media-shy neofascists make Couric and others out to be some varacious and spiteful tool while pandering to the hateful bigots calling themselves journalists at Fox News.

What is this woman trying to say? Do we have an interpreter on this site?

How about the interview she did when she was standing in front of a turkey decapitation machine? She was oblivious to her surroundings. And she has a degree in journalism? Those Couric questions were insulting? What newspaper do you read. How is that tough question? This woman is like watching a reality show. Its stupid, its absurd but its highly entertaining.

This woman can't even articulate a cohesive sentence. Example: "I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism." Does anyone else find this grammatically challenged? She's a mess; what's wrong with people?

CNN should re-brand its image by changing its name to PNN (Palin News Nutwork). You guys give more airtime to "Nan-nut from the North" than Fox News and she's one of their contributors.

Folks seem to forget the Supreme Court question as well... What a dolt.

I wish I could stop reading stories about here, but it is the same fascination folks have with NASCAR. Who doesn't love to watch a wreck?
