TRENDING: Palin won't 'waste time' on Couric

(CNN) – If Sarah Palin does run for president next year, at least one high profile journalist will be forbidden access to the former Alaska governor.

Speaking to Fox New's Sean Hannity in an interview to air Monday, Palin said she wants nothing to do with Katie Couric, the CBS Evening News anchor who's line of questioning facilitated one of the most memorable political foibles of the 2008 presidential campaign.

"As for doing an interview, though, with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that I would come out and say? Why waste my time? No," Palin told Hannity of Couric, according to excerpts obtained by Time's Mark Halperin.

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting," Palin continued. "I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."

In a series of interviews with Couric authorized by the McCain campaign, Palin stumbled over a number of questions, most memorably when asked, "When it comes to establishing your world view…what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?"

Palin appeared unable to name a single publication – a performance for which she was much maligned - and later said she found the question insulting, as well as emblematic of a liberal slant in the mainstream media.

"So a journalist, a reporter who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy, I swear to you, I will not my waste my time with her. Or him," she told Hannity in the interview Monday.

    The sun is setting on the American empire. Why? No country can harbor and champion this kind of ignorance and narrow mindedness within its borders and remain a world leader. Americans have become so ignorant - the country has become so dumbed down - that people can no longer see through the lies and spin that they are being told on a daily basis. We have lost the ability to think for ourselves. The very fact that an idiot like Palin can flub a word in a Tweet and have it become part of the Oxford American English Dictionary, the very fact that anyone would consider anything she has to say as having any intrinsic value (and spend good money on her books) means that our days as the "American Empire" are already over. We now seem to value anti-intellectualism over education. Being wordly is seen as a bad thing. Well, I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted. Your children, however, will inherit a third rate nation.

    I'm amazed Palin can even spell journalism– let alone have any clue about the profession itself.

    Here's her college path to her "degree in journalism":
    Hawaii Pacific University/Hilo – 1982 (one semester)
    North Idaho College – 1983 (two semesters)
    University of Idaho – 1984, 1985 (two semesters)
    Matanuska-Susitna College – 1985 (one semester)
    University of Idaho – 1986, 1987 (three semesters)

    And her only "work experience" in journalism was a brief stint as a SPORTSCASTER in Anchorage.

    Why do we even give this bimbo the time of day????? And of course she doesn't want to be interviewed by Katie Couric or any other reputable journalist– she only wants to talk to the dimwits at Fox because they kiss up to her no matter how ignorant & inept she might be.

    I don't think Palin has any viability as a candidate. I agree with her and Newt though that time should not be wasted on the likes of Commie Couric, and the two swell heads Matthews & Olbermann. I know the libs are wanting her to run against their immaculate leader but she will never get out of the GOP primary if she chooses to run.

    Sarah Palin continuing to play the victim card – it's always someone else's fault and eveyone's out to get her. And she wants to be President!?! I wouldn't allow her near any public job. She is willfully ignorant, mean, nasty and divisive. She refuses to take any resposility for her actions, and would only use a government job to get even with her perceived enemies.

    lafnjim, you've just got to be kidding me. katie couric is a soft plum of a journalist, barely a journalist, and not at ALL a little left of center! she's a rich conservative and has made this obvious in the past. at 20 mil a year, hardly the type to not Love right-sided ideals. pleeez. as if she's a tough journalist! this is laughable! Sarah doesn't read, and got caught off guard, and didn't like it, so has lashed out at every journalist since! logic, man, logic

    I have one other thing....to the LUNATIC FRINGE...that is out there on all blogs? Are you paid by the left to gin up responses, to overwhelm boards with cowardice, flame-throwing rhetoric and over the top criticism with out any knowledge of the person? Just what you read in the bias-ed media!

    And to the media- do you think you will ever be in the elite category of the pritzkers, california hollywood types and east coast well-to-do's? You, with your wind-bag stories may forward their agenda, but, they will never let you in their tent!

    If Sarah cared about truth in journalism she would not be working at FAUX News.

    Respecting freedom of speech at its finest. By the way, what did you major in (those 15 colleges and 10 years you spent the time on studying)? Wasn't that journalism? So you want soft volleys from those who praise you for your meager accomplishments!

    She will only interview with fox news, because that is the station that spreads fear and incorrect information. That is the station you will find all the big mouth Rush Limb and all the Obama haters.

    For goodness sake, she asked you what newspapers you read. Hardly a screaming bias.

    If you can't or won't answer such a simple and straightforward question, for fear that it will reveal your ignorance, you have no place anywhere near the White House.

    I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll be saying it many times in coming months – Palin is too stupid to realize how dumb she is.

    "I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy" ... I think what Palin really means to say is that I will only talk through Fox news and right-wing talk radio.

    Yet again, Palin is absolutely correct. Why should she or any other conservative waste their time with a democrat partisan hack like the unlikeable Katie Couric?

    Com'on Liberals!!! Let's support this candidate for the GOP nominee in 2012! Let's use Limbaugh's idea and call it "Operation Chaos 2" and we'll declare ourselves Repuglicans, and all vote for Palin in the primary! They keep accusing us of voter fraud, anyway! How much would you pay to see a debate between President Obama and this dimwit? IT WOULD BE PRICELESS!!!

    If she thought katies questions were tough, poor Palin. Katies question" When it comes to establishing your world view…what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?"..Now thats the easiest question of all time. Imagine what she would do if asked out of the blue by a reporter" If the president of North Korea has a stroke and nobody seems to be in charge and the country appears to have restarted its nuclear program, as president, what do you do?" tough question. Or "You're running as a reformer, a crusader against the special interests and politics as usual. Setting aside for a moment Sen. Ted Stevens' legal problems, should Alaska return to the Senate this Republican who has delivered more pork to his state than virtually any other elected official? Yes or no?... Or "Unique among all U.S. governors, you lead a state that shares a border with Russia, a sometimes hostile nation with a nuclear arsenal and new geopolitical ambitions. Given that, how do you evaluate Vladimir Putin? or And how do you define victory in Iraq? These may be tough question but not what katie asked her..Palin is weak..

    And by the way I got these questions from a website called http://www.slate.com..Wanna give credit were credit is due..

    The other problem Palin has with Couric, is that Katie Couric is much better looking than Palin.

    Only in America would a woman who:

    1) attended 5 different universities for a four year degree;
    2) permitted her teenage daughter to have sex under her roof;
    3) daughter is a high school drop out;
    4) other children don't attend school regularly;
    5) son who is a thug;
    6) paraded her unwed/drop out teenage daughter in front of the world;
    7) stole money from the State of Alaska;
    8) built her mansion off stolen funds;
    9) infant son is left unattended by her; and
    10) QUIT her job; (while many are looking for work); and
    11) is total ignorant of the English language and everything else and the list goes on.

    Yet, she goes on to make millions of dollars and is considered as a future president of the United States. All because she's white. America.

    typical Sarah trashes and goes afer anyone that disagrees with her or is critical of her. I guess she expects that if she runs for POTUS all her GOP opposition is going to be nice to her. I am waiting to see her trash Barbara Bush but I doubt if she has the cajones to do it.
