TRENDING: Palin won't 'waste time' on Couric
(CNN) – If Sarah Palin does run for president next year, at least one high profile journalist will be forbidden access to the former Alaska governor.
Speaking to Fox New's Sean Hannity in an interview to air Monday, Palin said she wants nothing to do with Katie Couric, the CBS Evening News anchor who's line of questioning facilitated one of the most memorable political foibles of the 2008 presidential campaign.
"As for doing an interview, though, with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that I would come out and say? Why waste my time? No," Palin told Hannity of Couric, according to excerpts obtained by Time's Mark Halperin.
"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting," Palin continued. "I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."
In a series of interviews with Couric authorized by the McCain campaign, Palin stumbled over a number of questions, most memorably when asked, "When it comes to establishing your world view…what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?"
Palin appeared unable to name a single publication – a performance for which she was much maligned - and later said she found the question insulting, as well as emblematic of a liberal slant in the mainstream media.
"So a journalist, a reporter who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy, I swear to you, I will not my waste my time with her. Or him," she told Hannity in the interview Monday.

It is my opinion that the propaganda from Fox News is the root of the polarization sweeping the United States. We should watch Fox News long enough to identify twenty advertisers and notify them that we will no longer be purchasing their products.

Sarah Palin is right about Katie Couric. Couric should have known better than to ask questions of a child about the newspapers and magazines they read. It was embarassing for Couric to question Palin like that. We all know it is no ones business that Palin can't read. We should all know just how embarassing it has been to her when the American people began to understand that she can't compose a straight sentence. She is no better today. She says, "I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism". Go figure. That woman is an IDIOT.

Half Gov. Palin seems to have forgotten that who, what, where, when, and why was all she was asked! She may have studied journalism but certainly not English, forming a sentence into a complete thought. If she did study journalism she's forgotten what ever she learned, you betcha. This woman is a joke who has been on a mission to dumb down America (to her level) and it's sad to say that she is succeeding. Is there even one intelligent and honest person in this nation who could not tell you which publications they read regularly? No. That means she's either unintelligent, dishonest, or both. She's at least dishonest in characterizing a clear softball question as hardball. Yeah, that Katie Couric, she's a real tough interview...
Jeff, Alabama, either you're lying or haven't bothered to confirm some Fox BS excuse for Palin blowing the interview. Here is the exact quote from the transcript of the Couric/Palin "newspaper" interview: "And when it comes to establishing your worldview, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?" This simple and direct question would only be a "gotcha" if asked of someone who hadn't relied on ANY newspapers, magazines or journals in formulated a their view of the world outside their own village. And how could Couric know that? In other words, I think, if anything, Couric was giving her a chance to show some gravitas.
But I have two questions for you. Glenn Beck asked her a similar question about the Founding Fathers, and she gave him the same answer she gave Couric: "All of them." Was Beck asking her a "gotcha" question? And did she answer the way she did because she thought it was a stupid question (her excuse for the way she answered Couric).

I see some comments on here are siding with katie couric and trashing palin because of her response. I'm independent, so i could care less either way. But it shows how biased some of you are because there's a generational divide when it comes to sources of information. newspapers and magazines are old school and their time has come and gone. By the time the news hits either one of these media, the 24-hour news cycle has already moved on to the next crisis or hot topic. So the question could also be flipped against Couric for sounding out of touch with informational realities. So let's just say it was a stupid question and a dumbfounded reply and call it a draw.

Couric is a joke. She has always been a hit job liberal masqerading as a journalist. I could care less about Palin as a candidate but any Republican know Couric is a partisan. I quit watching the Today show years ago it as so bad. They lost more market share than MSNBC will ever have in primtime in the evening.
