Obama doesn't think about Palin

(CNN) - Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin spends a lot of time talking about President Obama, but the microphone doesn't swing both ways.

"I don't think about Sarah Palin," Obama told ABC's Barbara Walters in an interview set to air Friday.

Instead, he said he's focused on being "the best possible president," while he acknowledged Palin's lure.

"Obviously Sarah Palin has a strong base of support in the Republican Party and I respect those skills," Obama said. "But I spend most of my time right now on how I can be the best possible president."

His comments came on the same day Palin's new book "America by Heart" hit bookshelves and her daughter Bristol Palin appeared in the finale of "Dancing with the Stars."

Palin told Barbara Walters in an interview last week that she thinks she could beat Obama in the next presidential election. The hypothetical match-up has also been measured by recent polling.

According to a Quinnipiac survey released Monday, Obama had a 48 to 40 percent advantage over Palin in a hypothetical general election match-up. The president also held an 8-point advantage over the former Alaska governor in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll, 52 to 44 percent.

I do hope she runs. Her constant snipping and grudge baiting will be entertaining. The Independents and All Democrates will shun her. It would be fun to watch though – all you have to do is nudge her and she will go into a campaign killing tyraid. Nudge any of her girls and they will curse you out. What a bunch they would make in the white house huh

The nit wit from alaska..thinks she can be god. She lives in her own duliusional world...where she thinks we are as stupid as her. I am a republican and would vote demorcat before I vote for her...as would alot of my friends. I have NOT met ONE person who likes her. Her voice is irritating...and cannot even stand to hear it...I turn the channel if she comes on.

Good for the president as long as your enemies don't know what you are thinking, the more confuse they become and the more mistake they will make. They forget the majority of blacks was raised on that tradition from generations to generations like they were brainwashed on hatred and racism and we still rosed to the occassion to defeat them at their own game. She need to read the black history and see how far we came by being non violence and trying to help all people. Not just one race of people but all the races. Keep up the good work and you will succeed.

The title of this article on the home page is "Obama takes verbal jab at Palin", after reading this article I am wondering exactly what this reporter is talking about. Seems like another wanna be reporter making stuff up! I long for the all days of real news before all these talking heads came with their unwanted opinions!

Why on earth would President Obama spend his time thinking about Sarah Palin? Sarah Palin is little more than a thorn in his side on a day to day basis. He has more important things to worry about. Should this come as a surprise? Our economy is in the hole and any day now WW3 could break out in the Korean Peninsula. There are bigger and more important things in the world than Sarah Palin's endlessly running mouth.

I hate how CNN puts the title "Obama takes verbal jab at Palin" on the homepages, when that's not what happened at all. There is enough real political bickering going on, do we really need to create more when it's not really there?

No one should think about Sarah – she's not qualified to even warrant any attention in the political arena. President Obama has higher ratings than she has in her own state of Alaska.

If he is focusing on being the best possible president I would have to see it if he set out to screw the country. Dont like Palin either but Obama has to be the worst.

  11. Nancy Pelosi, the wicked witch of the west, the DemocRAT gift that just keeps on giving

Two more years of this disasterous performance and Obozo would lose to the local dog catcher. The fact that Palin is so close should tell the DemocRATS they have problems. But given their clueless and disingenuous response to their midterm loses, they don't see it. They are doubling down on Socialism and class warfare while millions are unemployed.

The only thing incredible about this article is that there are that many people in the United States that have actually been duped into believing that this woman is anything but a self-centered, celebrity-seeking buffoon. She has VERY FEW skills other than the wink wink thing and that will probably not work on the Russians! Did we not learn anything from putting GWB in office only to find out that he was merely a puppet for Chaney and the other new cons exercising their dangerous vision of what the world should look like?

One of the benefits of being President is that you dont have to be subjected to the daily and hourly onslaught and droning news on Palin family's every move like the rest of us.
Trust me Mr. President...your not missing anything here.
Just remember this sir.....come 2012 she will be the republican nominee because thats what she is coming after and her party has no ability or guts to stop her. It is my hope that you will for the good of the country and for the majority of Americans who consider her and her family a total freakshow and utterly dangerous that you will refuse to even debate her. Forget it. We are not interested in you respecting her, we are not interested in you giving her ANY credibility whatsoever. The repukes consider themselves at war with America and everyone that does not agree with them......give them the war they want. Unleash every level of disrespect and disruption you can muster. You will CRUISE to re-election. DO NOT PLAY THEIR GAME. Make them play yours.

Why the need to use the phrase "verbal jab" in the Ticker lead in? He merely said there are other things that occupy his time and priorities – which is good to hear. Why can't all the outlets get over the need to sensationalize every little thing. Now the "verbal jab" that wasn't will become the news. I really don't get that need...looking for one medium/outlet to step up and get back to just reporting facts.

Just stop and think with your brain, how this country would be if she was president.

Obama can become "the best possible president" by packing up and getting the hell out of the White House, leaving it to someone who knows how to be presidential.

imagine giving sarah palin the nuclear launch codes?! that alone would be enough to never elect her as president. the fact that she knows SO LITTLE about the rest of the world, in fact she knows so little about america as well, really scares me.

It doesn't matter if Obama is thinking about Palin ( even though I don't buy it for a minute ). Half of America is because she brings ideas based on clear reasoning about government in America and that's much easier to think about than the convoluted reasoning behind what the Democrats have been doing in Washington for the past 2 years. Especially since the convoluted Democratic ideas in practice have not worked as promised.

How is this a verbal jab at Palin? because he dose not think about her? Why would he? Like most people with at least a half a brain (sorry West Virginia and the rual racist south) know that she is an idiot. Not one time in the last two years has she devised or come up with solutions to any of our problems. All she knows how to do is attack and cut people down. If she actually had some substance it would be amazing. Now the village idiot wont talk to any reporters other than FAUX News....wonder how she will get that to work if she runs for President. I mean those tough questions that Katie threw at her...wow, what publications she reads..just wow. If this country were to elect her it would be AN EPIC FAIL, in fact it would be the end of this country as we know it.
