Turkeys ride looks, charm to White House; they won't be gobbled

(CNN) - Two White House-bound turkeys can thank good looks and personality for saving their lives.

The 45-pound birds endured months of rigorous training and rose to the head of a class of 20,000 feathered friends vying for a pardon from the dreaded Thanksgiving Day buffet.

I never understand why President's go through this ridiculous farce of pardoning a turkey... He should realize that there are malnourished people even here in the US, and the best use of a fattened 45 lb turkey is to butcher it and turn it into LOT of meals for the homeless or at least the less fortunate. If someone gave me a turkey like that (not to mention two of them), I'd have a blast turning it into the main course for those in my community who could really use a well prepared, nutritious meal.

They could become democrat liberal house leaders. They are better looking, smarter and have more training and finesse.
