GOPer 'considering' an Obama challenge

(CNN) – Another Republican has voiced interest in challenging President Obama for the White House in 2012.

John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said Sunday he's "considering" a run.

"Yes, I am considering it," Bolton told conservative radio show host Aaron Klein's on WABC in New York. "If I did run, and I haven't made a decision, I have never run for office one way or the other, so it would be a pretty big decision to do it."

Bolton, who serves as a Fox News commentator, said he's concerned that the national discourse does not include talk of foreign policy.

"I'm very concerned about the direction of national security policy," Bolton said. "I'm concerned that we hardly talk about it at national-level debates in the mainstream media."

He also said the president seems to view national security issues as an "irritation, a distraction from what his real priorities are."

In the interview Bolton said Obama "doesn't enjoy being commander-in-chief," and that it's important the Republican Party nominate a strong candidate because the president "gives a pretty good speech."

"It's important to be able to take him on intellectually and at a policy level in a very direct way, and that's one of the things I'll be considering," Bolton said.

Bolton served as the under secretary of state for arms control and international security in the George W. Bush administration before he was appointed to the U.N. position and is currently a senior fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy in Washington.

  1. Vote GOP and choose Greed Over People

The Reds want tax cuts for the top 2% but want to stop unemployment benefits for 6 million unemployed.

    Question for you "christian" cons.

How is that putting Christ back in Christmas?

IQ points and opinions based on facts and not fear. The GOP will never back him.

Here is a brilliant man who knows what is going on and how to make things happen in a dangerous world run by dimwitted politicians. I wholeheartedly support his run!

The GOP lineup is really starting to take shape. Are you sure they're not talking about Michael Bolton with VP running mate, Kenny G.?

Not JOHN BOLTON!!!! This guy is Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld together,to the power of ten. If you liked Bush and the "Project for a New American Century" crowd, you will love Bolton. Be prepared to send your kids off to war though–all of 'em.

For god sakes, does the GOP even care anymore?! Lets look at their lineup for 2012. Sarah Palin, Bolton, Donald Trump, Haley Barbour, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Yep folks, its safe to say Obama is a 2 termer.

Doesn't enjoy being commander in chief? Is this a repeat of what someone else said about Palin? Like Murkowski?

John Bolten looks like a nut for a very good reason. His first goal would be to start more wars in his first term than George Bush did, and he probably wouldn't be satisfied with just three.

Oh, yes, by all means! Let's have yet ANOTHER intellectually and morally challenged ankle-biting nut-case in the running. He'll fit right in with Mama Grizzly and the Babdist (sic) preacher and the three-time adulterer (etc.).

Heaven help us if Bolton is ever elected president. His idea of foreign policy it his way or be damned. He has proven himself to be a tyrannical Ambassador of the UN. Since he has an uncontrollable desire to rule, this move doesn't surprise me.
