TRENDING: Palin must be stopped, says Scarborough

(CNN) – Joe Scarborough, the MSNBC host and former conservative congressman from Florida, says its time for members of his party to get off the sidelines and express their true feelings about Sarah Palin.

"Republicans have a problem. The most-talked-about figure in the GOP is a reality show star who cannot be elected," Scarborough writes in a column for Politico out Tuesday. "And yet the same leaders who fret that Sarah Palin could devastate their party in 2012 are too scared to say in public what they all complain about in private."

Scarborough, who recently returned to air after MSNBC suspended him for making a series of political contributions he did not disclose to the network, also took aim at the former Alaska governor for even considering a White House bid.

"What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a résumé as thin as Palin's would flirt with a presidential run? It makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill's," writes Scarborough, later adding that Palin is pursuing a "dopey dream."

The comments come several days after Palin herself stoked speculation she is considering a run for president, with the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee saying in several media interviews that she is conferring with friends and families about the prospect and thinks she could beat President Obama.

But Scarborough writes that prospect is completely unfounded and faults Palin for comparing her resume, which now includes starring in a TLC reality show, to that of Ronald Reagan, the onetime Hollywood actor. Scarborough also isn't pleased Palin painted President George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara in a recent interview as out-of-touch "blue bloods."

"Perhaps her anger was understandable," a sarcastic Scarborough says. "After all, these disconnected "blue bloods" had nothing in their backgrounds that could ever make them understand "real America" like a former governor from Alaska who quit in the middle of her first term and then got rich.

"I suppose Palin's harsh dismissal of this great man is more understandable after one reads her biography and realizes that, like Bush, she accomplished a great deal in her early 20s. Who wouldn't agree that finishing third in the Miss Alaska beauty contest is every bit as treacherous as risking your life in military combat?" continued Scarborough, in reference to the elder Bush's tenure as combat pilot in World War II.

Palin has yet to respond to the comments.

If only someone had called out G. W. "AWOL" Bush early on! Then we wouldn't have been punished by this man who was a "quitter" long before Palin took the mantle of an "emperor" with no clothes. "AWOL" Bush was clearly over his head as President. From national security ( 911) to the economy he was a massive failure. Palin is the same person just a woman.

No , what's worse is that CNN and other so called news outlets keeps giving this idiot a forum as if she's some god come to save us from what........CNN should be removed from the internet because of it's own devisiveness and wanting to keep readers on it's site , how about reporting real news because that person that QUIT their term as governenor is not news !

Now this is funny. One moron finally recognizing the obvious, trying to get his fellow morons to abandon a piece of their fairytale. But watch out for the unstable [R] house of cards. If you take the malignant Palin card out, will the whole structure start to crumble? This is exactly why Scarboro and other [R]s of at least mild intelligence are reticent to speak out against something so obviously harmful to their party and their country....there are so many other things in their house of cards that are likewise harmful, its hard to tell how they interact to hold today's [R]s and Tea-tards together.

Thank you, Joe. Thank you. If only more conservatives had the conviction to point out how detrimental Failin' Palin is to the party.

Finally, a conservative who has the guts to speak out about the circus of idiocy that is Sarah Palin. Let's just hope that he doesn't whimper and backtrack as soon as Sarah lashes out. I'm sure she'll lump him right in there with the rest of the "lamestream" media. Hilarious considering she's a media star and the lamest of all.

If the media would stop pointing cameras at her, she would go away. But I hope the Republicans keep listiening to ths airhead because that would guarantee another four years of President Obama.

    Finally, a voice or reason.
Unfortunately, the masses in the USA are easily led. Without a true leader in the republican party, any leader with pretty smile and god as her VP will do.

    Embarrassed for our country.

Dopey is right. My dog is smarter than Sarah Palin and Republicans better wake up or get another spanking like they did on Nov. '08. Sarah Palin is nothing but a comedic joke and everyone in the GOP knows this FACT. She's is NOT competent to be President and doesn't know JACK. All Sarah Palin has done is solidify herself as a "reality PHONY star" whose only focus is to get RICH, RICH, RICH without working for it. She HIDES behind FOX News and every other Tea-Bagging stumping ground because she knows she is NOT QUALIFIED to be President!!! She QUIT her job as Governor when it got TOUGH, what do you think this phoney-baloney will do as President? Being President is the HARDEST JOB in the world, it will EAT her alive and she'll hide behind her normal pack of lies and bumber "slogans" like she always does.

Sarah Palin will NEVER be elected President!!! You can take that FACT to the bank.

Believe me she will be commenting on this article like she does everything else she thinks knows so much about! Remember that you can't make those comments about her as she can dish it out but can't take the heat when it is soooooo true! This woman has got to go and I mean go. She needs to go back to "Her Alaska" take care of her children that need a mother who needs to put her children first and not herself. You can all blame Johnny boy for this disaster he brought to his party.......

Do moderate republicans have to wait to be out of power before telling the truth about Sarah Palin who quit half way as govenor just to try to get rich every which way she can? Anyone who can vote for her is just a reflection of her, ignorant and a hypocrite!

Seriously, Joe, you need to get Rove to shut up, too. His lies and constant blather are killing the party. Palin will eliminate herself, she' already one of America's most hated persons.

Palin may be right about one thing. She does compare favorably with Ronald Reagan. He was a governor. She was briefly a governor. He played bit parts on TV, and so has she. He had a celebrity presence, and she thinks she does. He outraged and split the country, and she is doing the same. He vastly increased the national debt and set the stage for welfare for the rich on a gigantic scale, and I believe she could finish off the country and turn the U.S. into a true third world economy.

    Yep. Pretty close.

Finally, a conservative speaks out about Palin. As Mrs. George H.W. Bush said, Sarah Palin should stay in Alaska. I don't know how anyone with a brain could think Palin is Presidential material. This woman can't talk and she is not intelligent!!!!!! How in the world did she get a journalism degree???? I won't ask how she became the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republicans, as they probably looked at her, thought she was "hot" and decided that's all that is needed. No creditials, no real college education, no smarts, just what they consider "good looks".

It's amazing how quickly she was given a "reality show". I might add, its a show that isn't doing well in the ratings.

The reality is Sarah Palin should go back to Alaska and stay there!

  20. A female in Wyoming know Palin will respond. She can't keep her mouth shut. I wish the GOP would speak up and tell the truth about this out of touch dingbat. I am sure that 90% of this country thinks she's a wackjob and the GOP not fessing up is making their party look like the party of idiots.

Joe, you are right-on. Palin is in the "news" every day. This is beyond belief that the news media prints every move she makes.

The more I listen to Joe Scarbourough, the more I like him. He takes on both sides of the aisle and calls them out for all the hypocricy. I don't always agree with him but that doesn't matter. He takes a more honest approach and always asks the follow up questions that so many media hosts seem unable to do.

It's about time someone called on the GOP "leaders" to do just that.....LEAD for Gods sake. Palin has made this country's political process look ridiculous in the eyes of the world. She needs to be put in her rightful place....and it's not the White House.

Well put. Wel put!!!! When the world realizes this lady has no desire to be president and she's using the media for the almighty dollar, she'll have run to the bank laughing all the way.
Maybe we need some Wikileaks in the Republican party....or maybe some good ole' fashion cajones. Put her in her place like you do everyone else with the negativity she's helped to create. What a circus.
