Palin declines RNC draft effort

Washington (CNN) - Sarah Palin is turning down a Tea Party request to seek the chairmanship of the Republican National Committee.

"I respect the desire to have someone in charge of the RNC who understands the wishes of the conservative grassroots and understands that power resides with the people and not the vested interests in D.C.," Palin said in a statement provided to CNN. "However, the primary role of the RNC chair seems be that of fundraiser-in-chief, and there are others who would probably be much more comfortable asking people for money than I would be, and they would definitely enjoy it more."

Palin was asked to serve as chairman in a letter from the group Tea Party Nation, which sponsored a national Tea Party Convention last February. She was the headline speaker at that event.

Despite sporadic online chatter about drafting her for the job, the prospect of Palin serving as RNC chairman - with its day-to-day rigors of managing the committee's 168 members - was never a workable one.

Though Palin has raised millions for her political action committee, most of it has come in through small donations via the internet. The job of the RNC's next chairman, meanwhile, will be to spend countless hours on the phone raising money from the kind of high-dollar donors who stopped giving to the committee under the leadership of Michael Steele.

RNC members looking for a Steele replacement are also hungry for an experienced committee insider, someone who understands the party organization's inner-workings. And of course, Palin relishes her unconventional role as an outspoken conservative firebrand and is seriously considering a 2012 White House bid.

Palin assisted Steele and the RNC in the closing months of the last election cycle, lending her name to RNC fundraising mailers and appearing at two fundraisers in California and Florida.

You freaking hypocrital lying moron . . . . . "understands that power resides with the people and not the vested interests in D.C.," Palin said in a statement provided to CNN. "However, the primary role of the RNC chair seems be that of fundraiser-in-chief, and there are others who would probably be much more comfortable asking people for money than I would be, and they would definitely enjoy it more."
If anyone knows what it takes to make money out of fools it's you!!! You are the biggest whore to ever walk the Earth!!! The problem is that you can't make as much money as you are making right now by being in a legitimate job. You just sell yourself to the dumbest higher bidder in line. The media are your pimps! Get it?

Sarah Palin isn’t interested in being the RNC Chair…She wants to be President. I say let her run. Give the world and global media another laugh at the expense of the United States…..and then watch her be humiliated for being the unintelligent, hateful faux-patriot racist bigot that she truly is.

Of course she would turn it down. It is no way in the world Palin will be able to talk off the cuff w/o prepared speeches and prescreened questions/answers.

Palin is in Show Biz now...she was never a politician...She didn't even run the show as Gov. her husband did it... She has gotten free press for playing the victim and it has worked...made her family more money then playing a politician. She's a fraud and it's time for the AK bimbo to head back to AK...

I wouldn't give Sarah Palin a penny for anything, including absolutely ALL of her thoughts. By the way, speaking of thoughts, did you hear that they found the mouse brain that Christine Oddonell famously said was removed by scientists and replaced by a human one? You got it, they found the microscopic gray thing occupying the space between Sarah Palin's ears.

How long will it take for the Republican Leadership in Washington to finally step up and say:

“Sarah, you’ve served your purpose. You instigated and agitated for the past two years with lies and half truths so that we could take back the house and begin re-installing the 2.0 version of the failed Bush Doctrine. You’ve even sold a few books and made off with a wardrobe of free underwear from Victoria’s Secret. You don’t serve our interests anymore – in fact, you hinder our plan of zero accountability for our failed policies, stepping on the throats of poor whites who vote Republican and taking back the White House…so go away Sarah…”

Still waiting for the GOP to finally say this.

  10. John Boehner is the dumbest person to become speaker

The quitter would have to put some time into the 'no win' job, and the job would take away her chance at running for president and scaring the hell out of 75% of the population. She can make more money and have no responsibilities by continuing her current tweet lifestyle.

palin won't run because she can't win. If the big donors stopped giving to the RNC because of Steele then palin would be the worst thing for the RNC. The big donors think of palin a a joke and nothing more than a media figure that should stick to reality shows and spreading lies like she has been doing. People with intelligence see palin for the uneducated loudmouth that she is.

  17. 8 Years of "Trickle Down" economics has only left a dribbling wet spot on working Americans's shoes!

"who would probably be much more comfortable asking people for money than I would be,"

For once I agree with the grizzly grifter, she is much more comfortable bilking money out of folks by "writing" books and selling her integrity and support if paid 100K dollar hooker fee.

She wants the freedom to take advantage of whatever happens to be the most lucrative gig available. At this point, I think she's given up on politics, at least in terms of a conventional politician. She sees too much money in the speaking circuit and elsewhere. Politics were simply going to be a foot-stool into the world of entertaining for Palin. She saw the reality show money and knew where it was at. She didn't actually have to keep up with world events, or act presidential. All she had to do to keep the support of her base was seem engaged by using Twitter and Facebook. I wish she was forced to have a debate with Ron Paul. It would put her out of our misery. Please bring back sane conservatism, Republicans.

Don't think of it as "asking people for money," but rather, selling them mindless drivel.

This is hardly news since the RNC job requires two things that Palin avoids like the plague: (1) sustained work; and (2) sustained exposure of her intellect (sic).
