Sarah Palin says Wikileaks founder making things up

Washington (CNN) – Sarah Palin is telling one of the world's most controversial figures: don't put words in my mouth.

On Tuesday, Palin tweeted: "Someone making things up again? Keep seeing this quote attributed to me. Huh?"

The former Alaska governor included a link to National Review Online posting.

That post is partly titled, "Julian Assange Notices Sarah Palin's Criticism." Assange is the editor-in-chief of Wikileaks. He's earned international scorn for recently posting over 250,000 U.S. State Department documents. On Tuesday, he handed himself over to police officials in London on unrelated sex charges and was denied bail after appearing in court.

But the National Review is referring to Assange's fresh op-ed, that currently appears in the newspaper The Australian, and that is what prompted Palin's tweet.

In the op-ed, Assange defends the publication of the secret documents. But he also writes, "Sarah Palin says I should be 'hunted down like Osama bin Laden."

It's that quote, being attributed to Palin, that apparently has her up in arms.

In a November 29 Facebook posting, Palin blasted the Obama administration's handling of the matter. And she also wrote, "Assange is not a 'journalist,' any more than the 'editor' of al Qaeda's new English-language magazine Inspire is a 'journalist.' He is an anti-American operative with blood on his hands. His past posting of classified documents revealed the identity of more than 100 Afghan sources to the Taliban. Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al Qaeda and Taliban leaders?"

Though Palin clearly calls for pursuing Assange like al Qaeda leaders are being pursued, she did not exactly write that he should be "hunted down like Osama bin Laden."

As for the other part of Palin's tweet, "Keep seeing this quote," CNN checked to see if it's been reported other places and could not find any other citations of it.

I'm not a fan of Assange, but this is just a way for Palin to cast doubt on any media that is not in her court (Fox News particularly). She has been caught lying about policies and politicians many, many times now and she hates any media that does not sugarcoat her rhetoric or follow her strict guidelines for an interview or event coverage.

Sarah Palin, the person who totally made up and lied about death panels, is a real hypocrite to ask: "Someone making things up again?"

  10. Who Cares?

Umm. Bin Laden is the leader of al Qaeda and she asked why wasn't he being pursued with the same urgency as the leaders of al Qaeda.

My Lord....her even arguing this is like a 5th grader saying.."I didn't say EXACTLY those words". People want this intellectual midget as the leader of the USA?

Oh man...Sarah says....? Maybe if the tweet twit queen wasn't constantly seeking media attention, she would be taken a bit more seriously. Any headline that reads "Sarah Palin says..." seems more like a joke than anything.

CNN, where is your article about so-called comedian Kathy Griffin getting almost booed offstage by the military when she made fat jokes and tried to riducle Bristol Palin? After all, you did many stories about Griffin and Bristol's ex, Johnston, having an affair, thinking you could make Bristol look bad. You didn't hesitate to write an article bashing Bristol when she made a common slang on facebook, and write praising articles when comedians lie and bash the Palin's. Why not write an article that shows how thinking people, the military specifically, soundly reject the MSM and left-wing hatred of the Palins? CNN has become nothing more than a rag publication that is no better than the Enquiror.

Please CNN, quit posting what Sarah says on Facebook & Twitter. Are you a news site or a gossip site?

If the twitter quitter half term disasta from Alaska actually ever makes a statement or gives an actual interview to an actual news agency then report the hell out of it.

Until then, she and her family are just like the Kardashians.
No one but her fans want to read her every thought..........

Will you cease and desist with all the press you give this stupid woman? It is tiresome. We all know that Sarah Palin can dish it out, more like shovel it, but she sure can't take it. She has said some of the most disgraceful and insulting things but the minute someone calls her on anything she doesn't like, she pouts like a school kid (sorry, don't mean to insult school kids). Elizabeth Edwards lost her battle today....focus more on that instead of always trying to find a way to put failin Palin back in the spotlight.

Her intended meaning is the same. It is unethical for her to deny what she meant, and shows what type of leader she is, at heart. At heart, she wants to send the dogs out after anyone she chooses.
