Senate finds Federal judge guilty

CNN - The U.S. Senate found Federal Judge G. Thomas Porteous Jr. of Louisiana guilty Wednesday of the first of several articles of impeachment; the House impeached Porteous on corruption charges.

Porteous, from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, was accused of corruption and accepting kickbacks, as well as lying to the Senate and FBI about his past, regarding his nomination to the federal bench.

In March, the House of Representatives voted unanimously to impeach Porteous, making him the nation's 15th federal judge ever impeached.

Last year, the House Judiciary Committee Task Force on Judicial Impeachment held evidentiary hearings that led to unanimous approval of the four articles of impeachment.

...And why exactly are we after Julian Assange? Our whole government is corrupt, and were blaming others for what's going on in the media now?? If a federal judge is corrupt, who are we supposed to trust?

Was this judge a democrat or appointed by a democrat, because if he was a republican, or appointed by a republican, CNN would have certainly found room to post that early in the article.

I would imagine if House investigated enough Federal Judges they would find many, many more that meet the requirements of impeachment.
