Trump 'really thinking' about prez bid

(CNN) – Let’s get one thing straight: Donald Trump doesn’t want to run for president. Honestly, he doesn’t. Not interested.

But because the country is in such dire straits, he says, the business tycoon and perennial publicity hound just might have no choice. The country needs him.

“For the first time really would think about it. And I am thinking about it. It doesn’t mean I want to do it. I’d prefer not doing it. I’m having a lot of fun doing what I’m doing. It’s a great time to be buying things. I’m buying a lot of things and really having a good time,” Trump told Joy Behar Wednesday on HLN, CNN’s sister network.

“But I hate - you know, I’m very proud of this country. I’m very proud to be an American. And frankly, I hate what I’m seeing. I hate that friends of mine from Europe, from Asia, from all over the world - they’re telling me stories about this country,” the reality television host lamented.

Trump said President Obama particularly embarrassed America when he traveled to Copenhagen a year ago in a failed last-minute bid to secure the 2016 summer Olympics for Chicago.

“Our President flies over to see if he can get the bid. Now, he then comes back. We don’t end up not only in first place. We don’t end up in second place or third place. We were in fourth place,” said Trump.
“Now, for the president of this great country to fly over there, he has to be given a wink. Like, come over, we’d love to have you. And you’re going to get it. I mean, do you know how bad we looked?”

Ultimately, it all comes down to respect for Trump:

“That shouldn’t be happening to this country. People are not respecting us. They are not respecting this country. And I hate to see it.”

Trump said earlier this year he will decide on a presidential run by June.

Wow...So Trump cares about the Olympics and how we are preceived around the world, yet no mention of the economy, domestic agendas, taxes...etc. Yeah, typical Republican. Trump so happy he gets to buy things yet so many living without. Maybe he should take the money he would spend on a presidential bid and do something other than make the US look even worse!

Wow...the Olympic bid? That's the best you've got to go on, you tool?

Donald Trump is way to full of himself. He, of the bankrupt Atlantic City casinos represents what is wrong today. He is wealthy because he is over-leveraged. If he had too cash in all his holdings today, he would never do be able to.

This is just too funny. Is there even one thing in his history that demonstrates his ability to be a political leader. Unlike on television, he can't fire legislators who disagree with him.

the ultimate irony here is the notion of criticizing Obama for not getting respect from the platform of the party that has set new records in disrespecting an incumbent President. It's all so wonderfully circular.

President Obama is certainly vulnerable in the next election cycle, but the Republicans have so far come up with a collection of opponents who are even worse. Isn't there someone better than the choices currently parading themselves?!

No one can doubt The Donald's skill as a hard-nosed deal-maker, promoter and visionary when it comes to BLOCKBUSTER REAL ESTATE MATTERS and TELEVISION SHOWS. How this translates into being a skillful President is a head scratcher. It must be nice to have so much $$$ that your sense of worth and self-importance can lead you astray without doing you harm. Never mind all of his giant biz failures. Let The Ego run amok. Yes, Donald, America needs you so much. Please, give us more ridiculously overpriced hotels and other toys for the rich to enjoy.

I wonder if mr trump even considers the fact that the rest of the world may not respect us anymore is because of the hedge fund managers, greedy bankers and financial policy's of this country that took down the world economy? Or that there are war criminals right here in this country that are not being prosecuted. The hypocrisy of this country at large may have more to do with world opinion than flying to Denmark.

Please, please, please run. Mr. Trump you managed to drive two businesses into the ground and though you are still ridiculously wealthy, it's nothing like what your father had. If you and Palin both run in 2012 SNL will have enough sketches for years!

So is it going to be Pres Trump and Vice Pres Palin or is it Pres Palin and Vice Pres Trump? Either way and the country is toast.

The cost of oil the line the pockets of Bush and his buddies just in time before he gets out of office, but now he wants to show his face when this WHOLE MESS started 16 YEARS AGO. Go sit down TRUMP and get a REAL LIFE and stop riding the coat tails of others.........WHEEZER!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF??? Trump is measuring President Obama's effectiveness based on the Olympics? How about getting rid of the pre-existing conditions clause insurance companies had that allowed them to refuse health insurance for surviving breast cancer patients, children born with sickle cell, etc. This country is about more than the kind of respect Donald Trump thinks he has. The only respect he has is the kind that money buys. That's not real. Let him go broke and see how much respect he still has... Just ask Bernie Madoff... What an idiot!!!

Ah, the likelihood we were getting the Olympics for 2016 was small tro begin with. We have hosted so many. To use that as an "embarrassment" is ridiculous. He was trying to give us a chance, it was by no means a done deal. Who's to say we would have been much lower had he not gone?

Donald you ain't fooling any one, you won't run because you love money too much, you won't be an effective president because you love money too much, and you won't win because you love money too much, you see how many bankruptcy0 you've filed because you love money too much, so you and your imaginary money loving friends can take a hike.

I'm sorry...why would Donald Trump, a con-artist who has repeatedly filed for bankruptcy several times himself...who's had more wives and kids than he he has hair follicles, think that he is equipped to lead this country? If it wasn't so offensive I'd laugh. One look at that come over and spray on tan and we'd be doomed forever.
