Washington (CNN) - The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to overturn the ban on openly gay and lesbian soldiers serving in the U.S. military, passing legislation repealing the controversial "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Hey McSongbird – wanna tick off KYL? Filibuster so you have to work an extra 4 days – maybe Christmas and New Year's Day too.

The Dimwit Party NOT supporting the US military is news?
Eh, i wouldn't say as much party line as expected 15 repubs or 15 dems aganist
Good to hear. Now, the US Senate needs to uphold its obligation to American taxpayers/civil rights and repeal DADT discrimination once and for all. Hold the Senate in session until a reasonable vote is allowed.
Good. We need the record clean and pure, not attached to the defense spending bill, that when it might be politically beneficial to anyone but themselves for something to pass and might run counter to their not-so-secret desire to institutionalize Christian dogma in our secular laws (and the Constitution be d-mned), the GOP is more than willing to ignore the advice of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense on national security issues and to walk back their own statments and promises regarding adhering to the results of studies/surveys when those results aren't what they wanted to hear. Facts, evidence and the advice of the best experts on the planet? PISH POSH...PARTY AND IDEOLOGY BEFORE COUNTRY 4 EVA! Yaaaaay GOP!
Lets hope the Senate does the right thing and passes this bill!
Good deal!!
Congratulations to our gay and lesbian men and women in the military for not having to serve with this type of discriminatory behaviour. Very reminiscent of when Blacks were'nt allowed to serve equally in the military.
Sorry that it took this long.
Thank you President Obama for fulfilling yet another promise.
one more victory over ignorance! never let the hateful win.

Well, at least that branch, is exercising some common sense.
