Emanuel cleared for Chicago mayoral run

(CNN) - It's full steam ahead for Rahm Emanuel's Chicago mayoral bid.

The Chicago Board of Elections decided Thursday that the former White House chief of staff should appear on the ballot in February's mayoral election, despite the fact that he has spent most of the last two years living in Washington.

Of course he's going to be able to run he's Obozo's man and this is Chicago, the most corrupt city in the land. Funny thing is the dumb people in Chicago will vote for him only because he's Obozo's man. The City of Chicago will end up like Detroit with the individuals they have running for mayor. It's a joke!

Are we really shocked that Emanuel will get his way? It's like I live on an alien planet sometimes, how can a guy who is the President's right hand man in Washington D.C. even attempt to assert residency in Chicago? Yet another ridiculous benefit to being chummy with the uber-libs who run that town.

Why don't they just appoint him Mayor and be done with it. That office has been bought and paid for already anyway through political corruption, and most everybody knows it. The Chicago Way lives on...

Here comes all the conspiracy conservatives. I know a lot of people who left Chicago to go work in DC. And none of them intend DC to be their permanent home. Get over it.

Ridiculous decision. Physical presence is not determined by having boxes in storage!

It doesn't sound like Emanuel wants to leave Chicago at all. I can't blame him because it is a good town.

I'm waiting for the "informed" right-wingers to put it out that Rahm was born in a kibbutz in Israel and therefore isn't an American citizen, blah, blah, blah, blah..............ignoring the fact that citizenship isn't a consideration for Mayor of Chicago.

Or, maybe he was born under the same burning bush in Kenya as Barack Obama. right?!
