Palin's e-mails remain secret – for now

(CNN) – Despite repeated requests from journalists and citizen activists, thousands of Sarah Palin's official e-mails sent while she was governor of Alaska will remain secret – at least a little while longer.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, one of former Alaska Attorney General Dan Sullivan's final acts late last month was to delay the more-than 25,000 e-mails relating to official business sent by Palin, her husband Todd, or members of her staff while she was in office.

The delay, requested by Palin's former staff, constitutes the 14th time release of the emails has been postponed.

The Alaska attorney general is permitted by law to delay the release of the e-mails if there are logistical reasons for doing so or if he has reason to believe the e-mails would reveal sensitive information that subsequently threatens the functioning of the governor's office. Palin appointed Sullivan to his post in 2009, just a month before she resigned from office.

Palin's former staff has asked for a delay until the end of next May – a timing that just might awkwardly coincide with the beginnings of a Palin presidential campaign, should the former Alaska governor decide to run.

Requests for the e-mails were first made by several news organizations in 2008 when Palin was named to the Republican presidential ticket.

A spokesperson from the Alaska governor's office was not available for comment.

The reason: They want to delete the crazy ones that will make her look even more stupid.

Have something to hide Sarah? What's wrong, you can demand it from others, but say hands off when it's your turn?

Sarah Palin is nothing more than a dimwitted money grubbing media whore that will never go away until she has sucked the last dollar from the pockets of the fools that support her.

  7. Former Republican, but never again!

The e-mails are the nuclear bomb that will once and for all show America the real Sarah Palin. That will absolutely end any chance of her ever being elected again!

EVERYTHING she says is an embarrassment. So, there is no logical and legal reason to NOT release the e-mails.
It's not like there are national secrets going on in the governor's officer of Alaska!

She'll just whine and try to blame it on the media, the staff or whatever. Can't wait to see it happen. If they are delaying it until a sensitive time it must be very incriminating. She's an emotionally immature, corrupt, self serving narcissist that will do anything to stay in the spotlight. I would not want this whack-job to be in charge of that red phone or the boss of me! The only way she gets away with this stuff is her good looks, if some nut threw acid in her face it would be all over in a heartbeat.

She looks like a real hillbilly in that picture: mouth agape, jaw slackened, narrow gaze. All that's missing is the coonskin hat, then she'd be a real frontierswoman!

I'd love to see her emails. I'm sure that by viewing them the public will see just how intelligent and professional she truly is. What was the ruling on the emails she had written on her hands?

Left-wing shills had a bad year (readership/viewership is way, way down) and 2011 doesn't look any better. The number of gullible believers keeps dropping every day. Soon the left-wing propaganda machine will have only the chronically spiteful and chronically deceitful to spin for. So, lets all bash Sarah Palin – who has zero chance of being elected anything any time soon. – one more time!

Wow, Palin is so transparent! But not in the way a political figure is supposed to be.

Waht 's she is hidding? An affair? Some corruption? An abortion of Bristol? Why it has not open an investigation against the Alaska AG?...... 14 times is a mockery of the law. This is the reason why I have sustained in years that Attorney Generals in Cities, States and Federal, must belong to the opposition Party.

We have a right to know what our government is doing. Especially since she was paid by our tax dollars.

Gee I wonder what the attention seeking X-Govenor has to hide. There wouldn't be any other reason to block the release this long after leaving office. Maybe more is to be learned about her dealings with her former brother-in-law's release from his job or maybe there is worse. If not prove it but by blocking the emails what else are we to believe?

Alexander Mooney–before internets–how did any legal issues ever get resolved. When you demand someone's emails and trying to indicate wrongful doing-let us see your personal and business emails!

The law couldn't have functioned properly before computers-seeking in-depth wrongful doing! How did the lawyers ever prosecute a case and win. If there has been any wrongful acts on Sarah Palin– it is how far our judicial the system wants to bring her down-news media personnel (like you) want full disclosure of her very private life, as well as, in her career!

The news media has turned into a witch's hunt!

When has there ever been a time that anger–revenge–ruled and reigned in America? The racial division has been seen–and America made great progress before even Obama! Thanks to Martin Luther King!
