NJ governor rips critics of storm response

(CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie blasted Democratic political opponents Friday for criticizing his absence from the state during the
snowstorm that pounded the northeast over the Christmas holiday.

He also took a shot at the media for giving what he characterized as excessive attention to the controversy during what is typically a slow news week.

So just why is the day to day task of snow removal a Governor level issue? This is nuts. I'm sure New Jersey has THOUSANDS of VERY highly paid union people whose job it is to remove the snow. Are these people too dumb or lazy to do the job without being watched and prodded by the governor of the state??? If that is the cas ethen he should FIRE every single one of them and hire new people. I hear there are people looking for work these days.

The attention this character is getting as a potential national leader is undeserved. When he speaks his weak reasoning is revealed. When he acts his situational ethics is exposed. By the end of 2011 he will already be a minor footnote. So I say to the GOP - "next"?

What a tool. Christie blames everyone else for his own ineptitude, and, just like Bush, that is so republican. Go after the media, because they made it snow while Christie was on vacation. He is so much like Palin and O'Donnell. It looks like he is going to have to give more of the state pension fund to the billionaires to survive this one.

Christie may be an incompetent, lying, anti working class, bootlicker for billionaires and Wall Street, but he was bought and paid for by the anti American toadies of the Fox GOP bagger party.

Gov. Chris "Cringle" Christie is a joke. Gov. Christie has develop a pattern of passing off blame for his mistakes.

I am surprised that Christie was not in Argentina like most other republican governors, or hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was just absent from the duties he was elected to oversee.

The Governor should rip the yellow journlists that plague our news wires! These do and know nothings just love to stir things up, no matter how insignificant nor TRUE things are! BTW, shouldn't they be working on their hard-hitting stories about what ice cream the President prefers on Fridays?

stufit – get your meds before you do harm to somebody else (other than your own reputation).

On the issue at hand it really seems that everybody knew that he was going to be away with months in adavnce, and everybody knew the same about the Lt. governor, so the fact that he wasn't there IS NOT new. How the situation was handled with him in Florida is.

I'm surprised Christie wasn't in Hawaii like the democrat president.

Huh? Ultra liberal CNN News Ticker? What's this guy talking about? CNN is the most balanced news source in the country. In my book, the sign of balanced reportage is that is can both make me happy and piss me off in the same interview. If I don't get some degree of discomfort out of a political story, I know I'm only getting half of it, I'm not being exposed to both sides. And only getting half of a story may be comforting ala Fox News, but it ISN'T responsible and it ISN'T journalism.

Loud mouth Christie, quit complaining, you are the Governor of NJ and the state of NJ is your responsibility. If all you know how to do is just make a fuss, then don't run in 2013. At least the NJ Democratic legislature did their job.
