Daley chosen for Chief of Staff

Washington (CNN) - President Obama will name former Clinton Commerce Secretary William Daley his new chief of staff, according to three senior administration officials, as a dramatic reshuffling of the White House staff kicks into high gear.

The officials said Obama will also elevate interim chief of staff Pete Rouse, who had been serving as a senior adviser before replacing Rahm Emanuel on a temporary basis, to the role of counselor to the president. Obama himself will make the announcements official at 2:30pm ET in the East Room at the White House.

So Emanuel to Chicago for Mayor and the Mayor's brother to his old spot. Hope and change or Chicago democratic politics as usual? Obama still doesn't get it...

Meet the new boss; same as the old boss. How do you fix a corrupt political machine as Obama pledged by simply recycling the same people who created the mess in the first place?

Is there some kind of hidden rule that only people with Chicago roots ever get jobs in the WH or that selections come with what appears to be ulterior motives? Was this part of a deal for getting Rahm on the ballot when his "residence" has been Washington and he should have been removed from the running? Does choosing the orther of the current mayor make it easier for Rahm to get what he wants?

  9. Mob rule

I lived in Chicago for 30 years and the only good thing that ever happened was the garbage was always picked up. The mob made sure of it! Lots of trash in Washington, maybe Daley can do something about it.

Let's see how many people can remember just how many folks from Texas were in W's inner circle or how many people from Little Rock were in Clinton's white house...a lot is the correct answer to both. So, the only people who can complain about this appointment are people who also complained with other presidents did it. If you didn't have a problem with W and Clinton then there is no reason to be yelling and carrying on now.

  12. Democrats Class Warfare - Destroying the economy and country

So the Obozo version of "Hope and Change" is to bring in all the old corrupt Chicago politicians to run the Whitehouse while all his leftist and union friends run the federal government? What next? Drive by knee-capping for opponents? This is getting rather ridiculous.
