Debt ceiling: Battle heats up
New York (CNNMoney) - Everybody's talking about debt. No wonder: The country's tab is a whisker away from the current debt ceiling.
The rhetoric is already loud, harsh and, at times, misleading. And there is more to come.

The graph showing the rate of debt increase becoming sharper in 2008 just when the economy ( which is the source for paying back the debt ) was getting smaller was something that absolutely needed to be fixed. Americans are in no way prepared for the crisis this was leading to. So now the Republicans in congress have their mandate to fix this out of control situation and things began improving even before they were sworn in. Shooting down Obama and Harry Reid's 2011 excessive Federal budget budget was the first step of many things that need to be done. Getting the economy growing again is a critical piece of the solution.
What is the big deal, the republicans now control the house, they don't need votes from the Dems. They're in the majoirty, so perhaps instead of playing the lets read the constitution game, Boehner should be getting his 218 votes together.
With republicans trying to save a nickel, at the cost of adding $800 billion to our debt in tax cuts for the wealthy, and $230 billion to our deficit by repealing health reform, while adding the cost of the $1+ trillion Bush/ republican war in Iraq, it would lead most sane people that republicans will destroy America.
After only two days, I am beginning to think that most Americans are missing Nancy Pelosi. My fellow Americans, what have we done?
