Obama to travel to Tucson Wednesday in wake of weekend rampage

(CNN)–President Barack Obama will travel to Arizona on Wednesday in the wake of the weekend shooting there that left six people dead and 14 wounded, including a member of Congress, two senior administration officials told CNN Monday.

The president will likely attend a memorial service and visit with victims' families in Tucson, the sources said. He has already spoken to many of the family members by phone.

Good for him. Regardless of what anyone thinks about the president's political ideology, one of the nicest things about him is that he has plenty of class, is culturally sensitive, and knows how to reach out to people. I deeply respect that about him, and think it was very appropriate of him to reach out to the victimized families in this way.

This tragedy shows just how much we need to choose more carefully our political rederick. Disturbed minds can't always tell the difference television and reality and are often fuelled political negativity. Negative adds are more common place than positive ones. We need to stop the negativity and choose our word better.

My prayers are with the families at this senseless rampage. The extreme right wing of the Republican party caused this vicious cycle of hate. It is a trajedy.

I think what President Obama is doing in visiting the families of the victims, is just the right thing to do. Although his visit won't bring them back, it does go along way in show the families that America has a heavy heart for them. I just hope that the media or anyone else doesn't make a political statement (positive or negative) out of this, it's not the time.
