Limbaugh says Dems playing politics with Giffords shooting

Washington (CNN) - Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh offered a vigorous defense of himself and Sarah Palin Monday in response to claims from some media commentators and those on the left that their charged statements and colorful language may have inspired the Arizona shootings.

"[The media] is unnecessarily stirring up the country in ways that don't merit," Limbaugh said on his radio program Monday. "It's fatuous and silly to even verify and justify these accusations by defending them. The premise is insane, it's silly, it's beneath these people. Or is it? It is who they are."

Limbaugh's comments come in response to accusations that the charged political atmosphere of 2010 – of which Limbaugh, Palin, and others played a central role – may have incited the use of violence among troubled individuals like Jared Lee Loughner, the suspect that is accused of opening fire outside a Tucson supermarket, where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was meeting with constituents Saturday.

"We are we constantly admonished not to rush to conclusions. Now…reporters are bending over backwards to link this shooting to me, to Sarah Palin, to an entire industry - talk radio," Limbaugh said. "Only in these instances is something said in the media said to influence public behavior. Go out and try to tell these same people that one of their top grossing movies has influenced has influenced abject perversion or radical behavior and they will attack you left and right.

"All of this has been pure politics, disguised as compassion and concern for a congresswoman," Limbaugh added.

Limbaugh is just as predictable as the sun coming up..he NEVERS takes blame for any of the stuff he spews on the airwaves, it's ALWAYS the fault of the left and the Democrats and he has taught people like Palin well to blame everyone else, NEVER say you're sorry and it's you against the world. Only his dittoheads hang on this guy's every word. His act is getting very old and i just hope it starts to wear thin in the area that will hurt him and his ilk the most......their BANKBOOKS!

Limbaugh, you Palin and Fox News don't have a message for the American people nor solutions for these United States, all you do is spew panic and fear as a means for covering your incompetence and garnering support. You are entertainment, a tragic reality TV show trying to assert yourself as relevant within American politics, nothing more. You preach hate and intolerance in the name of true conservative values and then decry those who act upon your message.

Rush remains one of the sole voices of truth in the media world! I wish conservative pols had his guts, especially when countering fallacious charges like the current "blame game" going on over Giffords. This murderer was a leftist, pure and simple. His classmates and colleagues confirmed it, and other clues (such as his favorite books, like The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf) tell the real story.

Its not politics when your own party is saying that the rhetoric needs to be toned down. And to say that spewing hate-speech, and marking people with "targets" of gunsights, doesn't at least partially condone the use of violence as a rational response to politics you don't like, is–to say the least–moronic.

We the people aren't playing politics with anyone Rush Limbaugh so don't play us for stupid or ignorant, a innocent 8 year old child was killed, others killed and severly wounded and we have a right to be angry. Many of us made complaints about the political rhetoric and rightfully expressed our concern as well as possibility of something like this happening, but you didn't listen as well as Palin and others. Furthermore the "Crosshairs" ad was approved and endorsed by Palin as well as many others, we complained then. So don't accuse Dems or anyone of making political heyway of this tragedy and we would very much appreciate if you as well as others would atleast show some regret if not responsibility.

What an idiot this guy is! Of course the congresswoman was attacked because she is a moderate democrat. And I fear she may not be the last one shot because of politically charged and biased opinons of both the far right and far left who state fiction as fact. Rush is one of the worst offenders!!!!

Limbaugh has been and always will be a scumbag. He and others have caused the frenzy and pushed unstable people over the edge. He and others have blood on their hands.

There is not a word, not a single word, that comes out of the mouths of Palin, Hannity, Beck, or Limbaugh that results in anything positive, constructive, helpful or even accurate for that matter. These 4 people are the most destructive, and irresponsible talking heads ever to come out of a generations culture. Their mouths are poison, their message toxic.
These 4, make millions and millions of bucks doing nothing more then declaring everyone not joining their hatred as the enemies...every day, every show, every comment. They do nothing but feed raw meat to the idiots out there that need to be fed their slop. It is an incessant droning of nothing but garbage. Theirs has become an industry of hatred and intolerance and they each represent the worst of this Nation. This isnt a game. Its not funny, its not entertaining, and its not without consequence. I would love to see the US government shut down this entire operation and industry of hatred. I for one am sick of them and everything these 4 stand for. Its not America and they are nothing more then bottom feeders in this pool of democracy.

Ultra-conservatives like Limbaugh and others have historically never accepted responsibility for any of their actions that have gotten bad press.

Remember, these are the same type who "targeted" abortion doctors, only to hold their hands up and say "I didn't mean it" when some of their more extreme followers actually went ahead and attacked and/or murdered several physicians.

Yes, idiot...you ARE to blame. All the hatred and bigotry that has spewed from your fat mouths (you, Palin, Hannity, O'Reilly, et al) have done nothing constructive in this country. You have fanned the flames of anger, frustration, and acts of violence w/o any consideration for the responsibility of your actions. Why don't you just apologize for your rants, admit you were wrong, and change your ways to HEAL rather than HARM the U.S. You won't...but it was an idea.
