Limbaugh says Dems playing politics with Giffords shooting
Washington (CNN) - Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh offered a vigorous defense of himself and Sarah Palin Monday in response to claims from some media commentators and those on the left that their charged statements and colorful language may have inspired the Arizona shootings.
"[The media] is unnecessarily stirring up the country in ways that don't merit," Limbaugh said on his radio program Monday. "It's fatuous and silly to even verify and justify these accusations by defending them. The premise is insane, it's silly, it's beneath these people. Or is it? It is who they are."
Limbaugh's comments come in response to accusations that the charged political atmosphere of 2010 – of which Limbaugh, Palin, and others played a central role – may have incited the use of violence among troubled individuals like Jared Lee Loughner, the suspect that is accused of opening fire outside a Tucson supermarket, where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was meeting with constituents Saturday.
"We are we constantly admonished not to rush to conclusions. Now…reporters are bending over backwards to link this shooting to me, to Sarah Palin, to an entire industry - talk radio," Limbaugh said. "Only in these instances is something said in the media said to influence public behavior. Go out and try to tell these same people that one of their top grossing movies has influenced has influenced abject perversion or radical behavior and they will attack you left and right.
"All of this has been pure politics, disguised as compassion and concern for a congresswoman," Limbaugh added.

Once again the pundits are defending an indefensible position. At a time when we as a nation should be coming together in this crisis, the parties involved go forward with business as usual. The republican leadership should be come and get on retrieving for at least this week. We as a nation should boycott the sponsors of any media that refuses to tone it down.
Limbaugh and Palin are certaibly not responsible for the actions of a violent madman and Rush makes a valid point when saying that you could just as easily say the same thing about the entertainment industry these days. Notice though, that while accussing Democrats of trying to use this shooting politically, he is doing the exact thing he is complaining about.
Mr. Limbaugh, save us your double talking, hypocritical lectures. The reason people have made such comments about you and Mrs Pailn are based in the reality of the hatred for the views opposite your own that you folks preach. I have listened to your show and am sure that had this been a Republican who was shot, you would have somehow spun it in a way that allowed you to blame the left for the enviroment.
The truth is that ALL of you politcians and talk radio know-it-alls have proven time and time again that you will spin any story, no matter how tragic or innappropiate, to fit your message and none of you care if its a moral thing to do. Mr Limbaugh sits all day, spewing hatred and mischaracterazations about the left, while Mr Olberman does the same on his show about the right. None of you have the guts to report anything factually, only reporting stories from YOUR personal angle. Then again Rush, you need to keep those people riled up so you can be worth your 4o million a year huh?
Spare us Rush, your statements are as foolish and see through as is your act that you care about anything other than stuffing your pockets with green and stocking your ego that remains as huge as you once were.
I always new that the talk radio couldn't go on forever with the hate that they spread into their listeners minds. Finally maybe those listeners will stop and think how much nonsense they have digested.
I feel limbaugh has more hatred than all human kind. He is a drug addict and sick and uses politics to push the ongoing opression in what we call the U of A. Remember Karma
now this is funny because I heard the sheriff in Az give his speech and although he pointed out media and talk shows never once did I hear him say RIGHT WING talk shows nor just Republicans. In fact he just said political climate and Sen Kyl, (R) in AZ got all bent out of shape, many on the right took it to mean them and of course Rush points the finger of blame at at everyone but himself. The sheriff must have hit a nerve. The congresswoman herself mentioned Sarah Palin's map before all this even happened now of course the right says "WHO ME??" I knew Rush was gonna attack the keft on his talk show today, it keeps his dittoheads in line and in the fog of what is really going on in this country.

The actual link to this shooting to him or Palin is not what people are saying, I mean he is right we don't know why the guy did it. However the intensity and fervor that he, Palin, and folks like him use to deliver their message needs to change. I think that is what people are talking about in regards to toning it down!!! Limbaugh gets upset about the Dems supposedly playing politics with this shooting. How does he respond? By playing politics with the shooting. Someone without an actual agenda would've simply said this isn't the time nor place for this argument and left it at that.
