Obama a one-termer, says Cheney

(CNN) – It's been months since he has given a media interview, but former Vice President Dick Cheney is making clear his sharp opinions on President Obama haven't changed.

In his first interview since undergoing heart surgery last July, Cheney told NBC News he still expects Obama will be voted out of office in 2012.

"I think he embarked upon a course of action when he became president that did not have as much support as he thought it did," said Cheney in the interview airing Monday and Tuesday.

Cheney, whose considerable weight loss took many by surprise when he publicly appeared at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bush library last fall, added Obama has proven himself to be out of touch with the role of the private sector in creating jobs.

"I think his overall approach to expanding the size of government, expanding the deficit, and giving more and more authority and power to the government over the private sector is a lack of– sort of a feel for the role of the private sector in– in creating jobs, in creating wealth and getting our economy back on track. Those are all weaknesses, as I look at Barack Obama. And I think he'll be a one term president," he said.

Cheney also addressed the Arizona shootings and the efforts by some to blame the events on the charged political atmosphere.

"I think we have to be a little bit careful here– about a rush to judgment," he said. "Trying to explain the event when we don't really know everything we need to know in order to be able to make sort of a final judgment. There's a lot more I'd like to know about the man who was the perpetrator of this awful crime."

Cheney also discussed his own health in the interview with NBC, saying he has yet to decide if he will elect to have a heart transplant. He currently uses a heart pump to stay alive, a device that ordinarily is not used for more than a couple of years.

"I haven't made a decision yet," said Cheney when asked if he will pursue a transplant. "The technology (of the heart pump) was originally developed to provide a transition. To take somebody who's reached the point where they needed a transplant but a transplant wouldn't immediately be available, so they put this in as a temporary measure.

"What's happened over time is the technology's gotten better and better and we've gotten more and more experience with people living with this technology. So I'll have to make a decision at some point whether or not I want to go for a transplant. But we haven't addressed that yet," he continued

As someone who worked for Obama and helped get him elected, he has been major disappointment. Everything he said he would do has been to turn around and support the same Bush policies. He said a vote for McCain was a vote for Bush. Turns out; a vote for Obama is/was one for Bush.

Tell me again why I should care what Dick Cheney thinks? Why doesn't this guy just retire? I mean, Bush and Cheney expanded government more than any other republican in modern times. The patriot act, no child left behind, and medicare part D were all huge government expansions. Bush\Cheney also bailed out the banks. Now he has the gall to come out and criticize Obama for expanding government. Mr. Cheney must think we are all stupid.

To bad this guys adminstration wasn't in for just one-term. Maybe a lot more people would still have jobs and their houses would still be worth more than their cars.

Belief in an age of skepticism:
While the wolrd sleeps and the church age coming to an end, we are rapidly approaching the end of time.
Because the most important event this world has ever experienced is only four months away.
Nothing will be able to stop it.
May God have mercy on each one of us.

Ah, so speaks the vice-president of the guy who should have been a no-term president. Actually, Bush was a no-term president since he was illegally "selected" instead of elected in 2000 and only voter fraud got him back in the White House the second time.

President Obama has done an outstanding job pulling this country back from the brink of disaster that Bush and Cheney put us in. The economy that the Bush regime destroyed is coming back under President Obama's administration's plans. We've got health care reform FINALLY. Now if the president would just repeal the Patriot Act, the unConstitutional "law" that Bush and his cronies pushed through, that would be an even bigger coup.

Luckily, we should have President Obama in the White House, in the Oval Office for another 6 years. This country will be great again if we can keep the likes of Cheney and his ilk away from the Oval Office.

"So, Mrs. Caesar. Do you feel your husband would be alive today if there had been a ban on knives?"

There are feelings, and there is logic. The latter dictates that only the law-abiding citizen is harmed by such silly concepts as a magazine limit. The reasoning here apparently is that 10 bullets is not deadly, but 20 somehow is. In point of fact, the FASTEST reload is a second loaded weapon. The shooter in I believe Virginia Tech came armed with 3 handguns and a long gun; lots of good a magazine bad would do there.

There seems a constant drumbeat from the Left that somehow inanimate objects are at fault. If Lizzy didn't have an ax, she wouldn't have killed her family. If there were no drugs, there wouldn't be a drug problem. At some point we need to come to our senses and distinguish between the mass of law abiding citizens, who simply CAN'T carry a cop around with them everywhere to protect them, and so have decided that carrying a firearm is to their benefit. But the Left refuses to acknowledge all the data that proves this true and simply wants to punish innocents for the faults of the guilty.

Cheney's opinion is of very little value. He has a Corporate America background so he speaks from a one-sided point of view. The Bush-Cheney administration allowed Wall Street to run amock when they could have put the brakes on the greed culture; but they didn't. sure it's not good to hamper a business; but it's also not good to let it do as it pleases.

This former VP should stop criticizing Obama and his policies. I think he can see that things are beginnig to turn around for good for the nation because of Obama's policies despite the stiff opposition of his party. Just to keep his dignity he should shut up and lead a quiet life.

    Oh brother ...and it speaks!
One termer indeed! In Dick speak, this means, Obama is so reviled, so disliked for destroying this country; there is no way the american people would allow him to continue in his desire to destroy the country. When in reality, the american people failed to 1st, keep Cheney from ascinding to the Vice Presidency via a court decree and 2ndly, to excuse him and Bush 2 from office for a 2nd term.

I am nauseous thinking about Cheney and the last republican administration. America failed miserably and now to even listen to this horrid person, is incomprehisible. Next we will seeing his little pandering daughter liz on the talk shows, screaming about the greatness of her father and defending his desire to destroy our current president.

Cheney complaining about exploding deficits? That's rich. This is a man who repeatedly said deficits don't matter and was the #2 man during the Bush years when big deficits were being run up.

Why does Cheney think anyone outside the far right wing base gives 2 craps about what he thinks? All I can say is that if Bush can win 2 terms, there is no reason why Obama can't.

This man not only looks sick he also sounds sick. He has the nerve to even make a comment on any suceeding administration after what the Bush/Cheney administration did to this country. Remember he was the one that said that a deficit does not mean any thing. This man is a draft dodger and it sickens me that people would pay any attention to any thing that he would have to say.

Cheney's life of treachery and deceit is written in every line on his Crypt Keeper-ish face.

One of the very worst people ever to attain high public office in this country, right up there with his idol and mentor Richard Nixon.
