Palin hits new low in poll

Washington (CNN) - After a difficult and controversial two-week stretch for Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor's favorable rating has dipped to its lowest level since she joined the 2008 Republican presidential ticket and became a household name.

According to the new USA TODAY/Gallup survey, Palin's favorability rating has dipped to 38 percent while her unfavorable now stands at 53 percent. Gallup reports the 38 percent is a new low when it comes to the percentage of Americans who give the former Alaska governor a thumbs up. The 53 percent who dislike Palin is also a new high in Gallup polling. A similar poll in July found 44 percent of Americans viewed her favorably while 47 percent did not.

The poll surveyed 1,032 adults by telephone from Friday through Sunday and carries a sampling error of 4 percentage points.

The latest survey findings are no doubt unwelcome news for Palin as she considers whether to mount a presidential run. But in an appearance on Fox News Monday, Palin said the latest heat directed her way in the wake of the Arizona shootings has not deterred her desire to be a part of the public dialogue.

"I am not ready to make an announcement about what my political future is going to be. But I will tell you ... I am not going to sit down. I am not going to shut up," she said.

Is this surprising? After a never ending assault of lies from the left would you expect any other results? The left using the Arizona shootings to further smear her with the cooperation of the main street media was rather despicable. As they love to say... let no crisis or tragedy be wasted.

Where are they taking these polls. None of us in Texas ever see a poll on possible Presidential canidates. This must be taken in the Ghetto. Not surprising. But SARAH IS STILL OUR CANIDATE AND WILL SONWBALL OBAMMEA THE LOSER.

I'm stunned that 38 percent of Americans think favorably of this ignorant, unedcuated, unqualified publicity hound who's out only for herself and to manipulate economically-fearful people in order to gain money and wealth for herself. She has no substantive knowledge or position on ANY topic...priod.

Sarah, show some respect for the victims in Tuscon. Sit down and shut up! For once, this isn't about you!

Well, what else can she expect when she has tried to make this entire thing about her and pretend she is the real victim while a child, a federal judge, and others have died and an actual elected office holder has been shot in the head? Its the same kind of thing we saw from Bush.. never admit you are wrong no matter how wrong you are, no matter how much it may possibly harm others. I guess the good news is that this woman won't be running for president... or anything else... EVER... because she realized that being a media celebrity is a whole lot easier and more lucrative than actually working for a living.

Oh, how i wish she would just shut up – but on the other hand, every time she speaks (and/or tweets), she helps to ensure the Prez will be elected for a second term.

The more she speaks the damage she does to her reputation. This country is in desperate need of someone who can unite this counrty instaed of dividing it as she would do.

Palin represents the new generation of Conservatives: low education, extreme views, anti-US government, violent, and racist. I'm not surprised that even Republican officials are trying to shut her up because most people think she represents the average Republican Conservaitve (and nobody wants that).

I think a '0' favorability rating would still be too high for her.

The biggest threat to America's National security comes from within; from self centered, polarizing, misinformed ulta left or right wing whack jobs like Sarah Palin. When will the national media wake up and stop giving people like her a "voice"?

When I see negative numbers for Palin, I'll be cheering from the rooftops. Only then will the American people be satisfied.

What remains astonishing and utterly unbelievable is that there is ANY percentage that favors Sarah Palin. Make your hay while the ignorant and dimwitted still adore you, Sarah.

"Palin said the latest heat directed her way in the wake of the Arizona shootings has not deterred her desire to be a part of the public dialogue."
I assume she means by the phrase "part of the public dialogue" she is referring to continuing to pander to the worst elements of our society who equate selfishness with the word freedom and to do anything and everthing to shake the money tree until the window on her usefulness to the radical right slams shut.

I wonder why that would be?? May the rest of the decent people left in this country that are not followers of her are beginning to to see what she has done to this country with all her hate and lies she tells. We do not need another tradegy like this. She will bring many more tradegys is she doesnt keep her mouth shut.
