Palin hits new low in poll

Washington (CNN) - After a difficult and controversial two-week stretch for Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor's favorable rating has dipped to its lowest level since she joined the 2008 Republican presidential ticket and became a household name.

According to the new USA TODAY/Gallup survey, Palin's favorability rating has dipped to 38 percent while her unfavorable now stands at 53 percent. Gallup reports the 38 percent is a new low when it comes to the percentage of Americans who give the former Alaska governor a thumbs up. The 53 percent who dislike Palin is also a new high in Gallup polling. A similar poll in July found 44 percent of Americans viewed her favorably while 47 percent did not.

The poll surveyed 1,032 adults by telephone from Friday through Sunday and carries a sampling error of 4 percentage points.

The latest survey findings are no doubt unwelcome news for Palin as she considers whether to mount a presidential run. But in an appearance on Fox News Monday, Palin said the latest heat directed her way in the wake of the Arizona shootings has not deterred her desire to be a part of the public dialogue.

"I am not ready to make an announcement about what my political future is going to be. But I will tell you ... I am not going to sit down. I am not going to shut up," she said.

Well, those kind of polling numbers should not only make her "sit down"and "shut up",they should make her"get lost"and"clam up".But I doubt this self-aggrandizing,narcissistic woman could ever look herself in the mirror and realize just how irrelevant she really is.

How the hell does this idiot still have 38% of people finding her favorable?!? I would have honestly guessed that this would be more like 10-15% tops. I would expect that even if you are a republican you still have to be able to recognize garbage when you see it.

Talk louder. Stand taller. 38% is too high a number. I thought your support would be 12% which would include all those brain dead tea party people.

never liked her, still don't like her.

I have to admit, I admire Sarah.
Just when I think she has reached the top of the supidity meter, she opens her pie hole and raises the bar.
I used to actually feel sympathy for Todd, but that came to a quick conclusion, as soon as he opened his.
If you visit Alaska, for God's sake, bring bottled water. There is something in the water up there that kills gray matter.

We don't want you to shut up, Sarah. We want you to continue watching the train wreck that you are. Everytime you speak, your ratings plummet. Keep up the great work!

38% still support her? Guess now we know the percentage of brain dead in America now.

"has not deterred her desire to be a part of the public dialogue"
Pardon me? Public dialogue? Okay, Ms. Half Term, public dialogue is when you actually go out in PUBLIC! Public is NOT book signing tours, Facebook, Twitter and Fox News. I know it is a scary thought for you but eventually you ARE going to have to engage in a public dialogue with people like Katie Couric and others who are not promoting their own interest in appealing to your base of right-wing Christian fanatics. All you're really doing now is alienating the independent voters. Ask President Obama how important the independent voters are!

I think it is time for the media to lay-off Palin...FINALLY. It is true...I agree with one thing she said – that the media "obsesses" over her on a daily basis. When in reality – she is really not that important except to her base of fans.

Well, no wonder. Palin has compared being called on her inflammatory rhetoric (and it is, no denying that), to Blood Libel. Nothing like calling criticism of yourself the same as the extermination of millions of Jews.
She is stupid beyond belief. One can only hope her reprehensible behavior lifts the veil on what and who the Tea Party/Republicans are.

Good grief, the woman has two ears and one mouth, had she used them wisely, she would be a whole lot smarter today. Please Sarah, shut your mouth and listen to the true majority that fears you are a millstone around the neck of the Republican Party. Even John McCain calls you a loose canon.

Sarah there is a reason your poll numbers keep slipping every time you open your mouth. You took a tragedy in Arizona where 6 people were killed and more wounded and acted like you were the real victim because evil people kept asking you why you put gun sights on the district of the member of congress who was shot.

A train wreck is a train wreck at any speed. Full throttle, Ms. Palin. That light up ahead? It's a loonie light. Full speed ahead into oblivion.
CNN, please, enough with the obsession with this drama queen.

As Palin's base continues to harden and shrink and since she has proven she's unable to speak to moderates, her positions will of neccessity become even more inflammatory and untenable. She'll pander to what's left of her base: dissaffected gun owners and wild-eyed patriot/militia types until she has to splinter away from the "mainstream" tea party and finally go home to Alaska - and take her Pariah Party with her. I'd say good riddance but considering her monstrous ego and the fact that she now has her own money, we won't have seen the last of her.

Palin is very fake. On her Alaskan reality show she needed help loading her gun and missed four or five times. What is amazing is that her "almost son-in-law" said in a Vanity Fair interview that Paln cannot load a gun. Now I guess we know he wasn't lying. He also said she she referred to her downs-syndrome baby as the" retarded one." So is this also true? I think so. Hopefully, this devisive, hate filled, delusional pewson vanishes from the public scene.

If you took a poll of public opinion on Dr. Martin Luther King in 1963, you would also see a very high negative rating, even though it wasn't true.

You can't be seriously be putting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Sarah Palin on the same level!!!

If she wanted an example of an appropriate response to the shootings from her own side, I can give her one: Amy Kremer of Tea Party Express issued a statement immediately afterward that contained the elements of leaderlike statements Palin just seems not to grasp. (I am definitely not on board with the Tea Party in other respects, but I do register responsible things said by them or Palin or anyone else)

The old saying goes, "The empty barrell makes the most noise!". I think all Palin does is make people angry and she revels in it ... whether it fires people up who have a cause, or fire people up against those that have that cause. She is just a divisive entity with a horrendously shrill voice. I just can't imagine listening to it for 4 years!!!!!!!

Sara Pain is nothing but a political whore !
Who would ever back a person who spit in the face of the voters in Alaska. She dumped them for money!!!! They voted her to take the top office in Alaska and all she did was kick in their teeth and say I can earn more money by running away from the office. Toooooo bad voters....
I just wish the media would dump her as she did the state of Alaska...
