Palin hits new low in poll

Washington (CNN) - After a difficult and controversial two-week stretch for Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor's favorable rating has dipped to its lowest level since she joined the 2008 Republican presidential ticket and became a household name.

According to the new USA TODAY/Gallup survey, Palin's favorability rating has dipped to 38 percent while her unfavorable now stands at 53 percent. Gallup reports the 38 percent is a new low when it comes to the percentage of Americans who give the former Alaska governor a thumbs up. The 53 percent who dislike Palin is also a new high in Gallup polling. A similar poll in July found 44 percent of Americans viewed her favorably while 47 percent did not.

The poll surveyed 1,032 adults by telephone from Friday through Sunday and carries a sampling error of 4 percentage points.

The latest survey findings are no doubt unwelcome news for Palin as she considers whether to mount a presidential run. But in an appearance on Fox News Monday, Palin said the latest heat directed her way in the wake of the Arizona shootings has not deterred her desire to be a part of the public dialogue.

"I am not ready to make an announcement about what my political future is going to be. But I will tell you ... I am not going to sit down. I am not going to shut up," she said.

I don't know which is more laughable Sarah Palin or the Democrats who keepi changing their story about health care, But America has agreed on one thing and that's both Palin and Obama Care is very unpopular.

It is my understanding that she recieved journalism degree. So, supposely being intelligent and understanding the media, she has foot and mouth disease very badly.

This conservative think she needs to stay with her reality show and out of politics

Run Palin run and get the nod from the republicans. I want to see you get only 2% of the votes and than maybe you will finally go away...Oh you wont get the nod b/c you won't run. You will be part of the process but once you figure out that your salary as president is only in the hundreds of thousands and you won't be able to scam the public for more money, you will drop out.

Well at least others are starting to see what many saw from the beginning of her rise to fame . She is a pretty face with no substance!
She has always been all about me , me, me and her radical base, not about all of Americans. I resented her quote when she was running with McCain about " real America" we all are real America, she just has blinders on! Now maybe she will think about taking them off!

For all her tough talk of being a "mama grizzly" and her bashing the mainstream media, it's obvious she's TERRIFIED of the mainstream media. When was the last time she actually answered a question? All of her communication is one-sided; there's no discourse. A taped video from her home, posts on facebook, inane tweets, and the occasional Fox News "Interview" that consists of her cheerleaders reassuring her how great she is – but no real give-and-take, no serious discussion of issues with her. Any comment on her facebook page that doesn't agree with her – even logical, reasonable points taking issue with something she's dead wrong about – get deleted within minutes.
She's more like a petty, egotistical teenage girl than a leader. A leader doesn't whine when somebody says something "mean" about her; a leader rises above it and concentrates on the bigger picture. That's the problem with her – there's no bigger picture. There's nothing there but divisiveness, pettiness and buzzwords, aimed toward people who believe it only because she's convinced them to celebrate their ignorance and not question what she says.
Does America "fear" her? Does the left "fear" her? No, they fear the people who actually buy what she's selling and cast their vote based on lies.

If Palin can hang on and take most of the criticism for the next year it will give the rest of the GOP candidtates some room to prepare. Palin in a non-candidate and hopefully she can remain bait, fodder, or continuous hate from the left.

  9. freedom includes the right to be stupid...... sadly.

@Freedom of Speech in the USA

"Is this surprising? After a never ending assault of lies from the left would you expect any other results? The left using the Arizona shootings to further smear her with the cooperation of the main street media was rather despicable. As they love to say... let no crisis or tragedy be wasted."

A never ending assault? main street media? hahaha, the freedoms in America certainly do allow for stupidity beyond all belief. I look forward to hearing your pathetic excuses when she completely buries herself in her next speech. Conservatives love to paint themselves as the victim. When will you morons wake up and smell the coffee? You make your bed, you fckin sleep in it! Stupid just can't be fixed. Will you please at least try?

The more Sarah unleashes the hate, the lower the numbers will go. She's shallow and dim. Pretty soon, her favorable percentage will match Fox News' market share.

Since when does the snowbilly grifter engage in dialogue? As far as I can tell, she is simply a pr/spin machine with the goal of relieving her most loyal followers of their very last dime.

Fed Up, if you heard a campaign rally in President Obama's memorial service, you really need to have your ears checked. Your hearing is failing.

I am a Star Wars fan, and if you ask me who would Palin be in the Star Wars Universe, it wouldnt be Darth or the Emporer or anything like that....Sarah Palin would merely be an insignificant Jar Jar Binks. Jar Jar is so annoying, adds nothing to the plot, is there only for bad comic relief, has an annoying voice and wouldnt 'shut up' either.

I knew you are being a bit sarcastic but the media really do need to lay-off Palin; If the media Quit writing about her, she is actually old news.

I for one hopes that she doesn't 'shut up.' Every time she opens her mouth, something absurd comes out. For all I care, she can be the representative of the tea party and republicans . . . she shows us what they are really like. Her approval ratings will continue to decline with every made up word she speaks!
