Palin hits new low in poll

Washington (CNN) - After a difficult and controversial two-week stretch for Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor's favorable rating has dipped to its lowest level since she joined the 2008 Republican presidential ticket and became a household name.

According to the new USA TODAY/Gallup survey, Palin's favorability rating has dipped to 38 percent while her unfavorable now stands at 53 percent. Gallup reports the 38 percent is a new low when it comes to the percentage of Americans who give the former Alaska governor a thumbs up. The 53 percent who dislike Palin is also a new high in Gallup polling. A similar poll in July found 44 percent of Americans viewed her favorably while 47 percent did not.

The poll surveyed 1,032 adults by telephone from Friday through Sunday and carries a sampling error of 4 percentage points.

The latest survey findings are no doubt unwelcome news for Palin as she considers whether to mount a presidential run. But in an appearance on Fox News Monday, Palin said the latest heat directed her way in the wake of the Arizona shootings has not deterred her desire to be a part of the public dialogue.

"I am not ready to make an announcement about what my political future is going to be. But I will tell you ... I am not going to sit down. I am not going to shut up," she said.

The real shame is that 'still' fairly large percentage of Palin supporters (as other readers noted). Ignorance and laziness are dragging our country down faster than anything else. How blind can people be to not see that intelligent, calm, and knowledgeable leadership just doesn't exist in this woman's person. All she does is stir ideas up without offering any real solutions or than for fattening her bank account and book selling. True leadership brings people together, not pull apart. As much as I'd love to see a woman in office, they also have to have the brains not just guts. Palin, go home.

[So many posters on this board jumped on the " It's all Sarah's fault " bandwagon and it quickly fell off a cliff the more we learned about the sicko murderer. These posters took advantage of the victims of this crime to make an empty political point. It was pathetic to watch.]

And Sarah JUMPED into the media and was unable to RISE ABOVE it all and joined in the "Tit for Tat" right along with the Posters!!!

MANY Americans thought that the Crosshairs and TP Threats were a direct result of Sarah’s “insensitivity”!!! Since MOST thought that – even Gabrielle Giffords – then it's up to Sarah to "CALM THAT THOUGHT" and not jump out there with "Blood Libels" and accusing everyone else because she was “insensitive” to the matter!! I waited BEFORE I blogged about the incident until I knew all of the FACTS!! I also thought Sarah had a good opportunity to get out there and PROVE she is different from what most thought about her – She was UNABLE to do that – She is DONE!!

Palin's methance laden words are polluting the political atmosphere. It is best that she fades into oblivion. She has had her time in the sun. Let us return to civility in our discourse.

She has no intention of running for anything and it's more beneficial to her to just dangle carrots in front of her supporters and rake in the money. She enjoys her celebrity status and even more, enjoys sitting on the sidelines throwing stones. She doesn't have to do the hard work of actually coming up with ideas that could work, but instead trash those she doesn't agree with. It's a win-win for her.

I do agree. She really is a petulant adolescent girl. ( for you Tea Party people it means a little teenage twit). That is the way she comes across. For all of you who think she was victimized, she could have used many other symbols other than cross-hairs. She could have said many other things besides "don't retreat, reload. She could have not made up stories about "death panels. She could have answered direct questions in a direst way. But she never has any answers. I do believe that the violent rhetoric from both sides can stimulate untoward reactions. But she chose the words she used. ( or she has a really bad publicist.) However most of us know that and her chances of winning any kind of national political office are slim to none. There are other people out there that have more political clout but are just as destructive. To hell with Petulant Palin. We need to watch out for the other fascist out there. Mitt Romney for instance has more credibility but is still an elitist and a fascist. ( I know what an elitist snob he is from experience I'm not just making it up, that's Palin's job. . Don't get me wrong, it's still fun to watch Sarah run. I think this country and this President are on as right a track as possible. At last and articulate, intelligent and compassionate person in the White House. I know this will cause some people's heads to explode from rage, but just because he is a person of color and his name isn't John Jones, it doesn't mean he isn't the right man for the job.

We as an americans have a choice. If we want to put some one in the white house that can cause the III world war and distraction of humanity in the first few weeks into her presidency because of her stupidly and ignorance, then we should vote for Palin.

In 2011, there is no place in society for a such a vile hateful coward such as Sarah Palin. She put cross hair targets on human beings. Then, she boasted about it until the events in AZ; at which time she quickly took them down and hid like the disgusting coward that she is. Be Proud Tea Party Patriots. You oppose the President for having the gall of trying to provide health care for American citizens, yet you support Palin who puts cross hairs on human beings.

BWWWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH..... Funny how all the fringe on the right have names like "Patriots salute the flag...", Freedom of speech...", etc.
Reminds me of the old saying that Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. Sam Johnson was right and it is apparent every time I read these blogs.

Mrs Palin: While I disagree with some of your political views, I do not believe you are as bad a person people say you. I f I may offer a suggestion; "Please FIRE" whoever writes your speeches. Speak more from your heart

Its funny. If the mainstreet media such as CNN didn't focus on her to get ratings, she would be a nobody. Its not that the mainstreet media is speading lies that makes here unpopular, she is doing it to herself.

As long as her devisive side show brings in a buck Sarah Palin will not sit down and shut up. As long as her dim witted followers shovel their money to her, we're stuck with her.
    Some will never get it.

Sarah Palin is about one thing and one thing only – Sarah Palin. That's why she will never run for President – she's not willing to take the pay cut. Reality TV and Fox News pays a lot more than the Oval Office or the Alaska Governor's Office.

"As it turns out the heat directed at Sarah Palin due to the Tucson tragedy backfired on the accuser/ haters. Jared The Mass Murderer was about as sick as they come and this had absolutely nothing to do with politics.

So many posters on this board jumped on the " It's all Sarah's fault " bandwagon and it quickly fell off a cliff the more we learned about the sicko murderer. These posters took advantage of the victims of this crime to make an empty political point. It was pathetic to watch."

And you having your head in the sand, your attempts at attacking Dems for any and all moves they make, and your being in complete denial in believing all the details of the shooter's mindset have been disclosed and there is absolutely nothing else to come as to his real motive, is over the top pathetic!!...keep dreaming, your good at it!

Palin reminds us of the mean highschool girl that giggled and flipped her hair as she cruely used words to hurt another without an ounce of thought or care of the injured's feelings.

. Anyone who smiles while they are saying very mean and hurtful things about another gives me the creeps. Palin does this all the time in her comments of anyone who disagrees with her.

Perhaps crosshairs causing violence might be equated to the short skirt of a woman causing rapists to rape? So let's get rid of short skirts!
