Justice Thomas amends financial disclosure forms
(CNN) - Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has released newly corrected financial disclosure forms showing his wife's past employment, blaming a misunderstanding for years of omissions of Virginia "Ginni" Thomas' salary at a conservative think tank and other jobs.
Thomas was required to report the information on the annual disclosure forms all federal judges must file. The forms did not disclose how much money Mrs. Thomas was paid.

I cannot imagine why Thomas, who ruled in favor of the citizens united case, would not reveal his wife's $780,000 income from those same conservative groups. Maybe the republican culture of corruption is alive in the supreme court.
"Misunderstanding"? I used to hold the United States Supreme Court in high esteem. I felt safe that they would interpret
the Constitution in an unbiased, uncompromising way. My belief that all Americans would be treated fairly and that we
could depend on their knowledge and true patriotism and their decisions would transcend politics, personal beliefs, and arrogance is now
blown out the window. My respect and trust is wavering, and this is a sad day indeed. Anyone "misunderstanding"
that $700,000 is not a part of financial disclosure causes me to wonder what else this guy "misunderstands". Now we
know why he has been so "quiet" and why so many fought so hard to deny this person the ultimate "job". He can
not be removed, questioned, nor denied privileges that, I am beginning to think, are undeserving.
Will this disclose that he isn't really fit to sit on the court as well? Will this disclose that his wife does organizing for the reactionary "tea party" groups that want to destroy the ways we have built up to protect people?
He and Roberts and Scalia just kinda make up their own rules to suit themselves. And people wondered why we didn't want W and Shooter to pick any more justices. There needs to be a way to "recall" these justices that don't even follow the LAWS.

The most inept justice to ever serve on the court. Doesn't say much doesn't write opinions, what a waste when we could have someone who could hold his/her weight and contribute. and we find that is wife is a lobbyist. Why am I not surprised. He should never have been confirmed and he should be impeached.

Thanks for the nice post. Justice Thomas has the right to amends financial disclosures. Indeed, he wants to clarify everything about the money issue of his wife. Sadly, I find it all too plausible that Justice Thomas misunderstood a simple legal document.
One hears so much about the adventures of Justice Thomas and Family, from the time before his appointment to the Supreme Court, in the form of tales of sexual harassment, to Mrs. Thomas's recent, hotly aromatic request from Ms. Hill for an apology for her almost forgotten testimony, that it is difficult to forget that smoke is a good indicator of fire.
Can judges (LOL in this case) be impeached for oh, so much against this guy? Wife is a member of the tea party.

I think this so called supreme court needs to be cleansed of the old farts starting with roberts (who couldn't remember 35 words back in 2009) and have the President start over with new supreme court justices.

Cazart! What is going on over at SCOTUS?? First the Citizens United decision, which tilted elections heavily in favor of republicans. Then Thomas' wife makes waves as a Tea Party activist. Then Scalia agrees to a request from Michelle Bachman, of all people, for an unprecedented briefing of new right-wing congressmen, and it will be in secret, no less! Now we find that Thomas' wife is a paid professional of various conservative "think tanks", which is little more than a scam for the rich and corporate to give money under the table to well-placed people. And Thomas, a freakin' Supreme Court Justice, didn't know, or even think, that he was obligated to disclose his wife's income from such a group?????
Are we supposed to believe that none of these things are connected? If you believe that one, I've got some Iraqi WMD's that I'll sell you cheap!
Clarence Thomas is unqualified and unfit to be on the highest court in the land. He should be impeached for his continual flaunting the conflict of interest rules that govern the Supreme Court. His latest unethical omission regarding his wife's employer and salary should trigger an immediate investigation into this supremely unqualified justice.
