Rep. responds to Obama: 'You believe in socialism'
(CNN) – The State of Union address may have appeared to be a more civil affair to viewers at home, but at least one Republican congressman was launching some fiery rhetoric on Twitter as President Obama spoke.
Tweeting during the president's speech in the confines of his office, Georgia Rep. Paul Broun said at one point, "Mr. President, you don't believe in the Constitution. You believe in socialism."
The tweet was sent under the handle @RepPaulBrounMD, the account the congressman uses for his congressional duties. (Broun also has a separate account, @PaulBrounforGA, that he uses for political purposes.) The remark quickly circulated on Twitter, with some users comparing it to Rep. Joe Wilson's famous "You Lie" outburst two years ago.
Several of Broun's other instant responses to the president were also sharply critical:
"All children will be poor if we continue with Obama's policies #fb"
"From my seat, Obama's call for more investments sounds like more govt spending #fb #SOTU #TCOT"
If the govt would get out of the way, we could have innovation and development"
A Broun spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. But according to Roll Call, the congressman has watched the last few State of the Union Addresses from his office so he can tweet during the debate.
Broun did part on a somewhat positive note, however: "Good speech-but long on hope and short on reality."

Georgia Rep. Paul Broun, he just doesn’t get it!! I think it is Rep like him who really needs to be voted out. How do people expect to move this country forward if they have Rep like this guy who basically, does not have their best interest at heart. I mean first the guy need to go check out the President education, because I think the President knows the Constitution inside and out and secondly, go look up the meaning of Socialism. Also, if he sitting in his office doing the State of the Union Speech, and has been doing it for the last couple of 'Years' it tells you right there the man doesn't respect the President!!! VOTE HIM OUT!!!
What you don't see in any of his tweets...solutions.
Here's a novel idea, sit on the house floor and interact with your fellow representatives instead of hiding in your office sending out one liners.
Guy is obviously more interested in getting re-elected than he is in participating in the process.
Broun, like other wingnuts in the GOP/Tea Party, needs to educate himself on the definition of socialism.

Typical Republican that does not like hope, and is full of pee your pants paranoia. Every successful country has a degree of socialism, or they would not have the freedom to have their rights protected." Short on Reality" should be a great title for a Republican politicians next book tour, they are s o far out of touch and always want to stop progression using the constitution as an excuse from going forward.
"All children will be poor" if the GOP doesn't realize that there's only so much you can cut from the budget without raising taxes. The reason our deficit is so high is because the primary source of revenue used to pay such debts – tax revenue – has been chocked off with the torniquet of Republican placation.
Tax cuts are a bribe paid to the voters, at the voters' descendants' expense. And all the GOP is accomplishing with their plan of cutting so deep into the budget, is that all politicians will be paid the same amount but will have less work to do.
It's clear that some politicians should not be allowed to use technology such as Twitter.

Looks to me like the press is hoping to find another "You lied" moment, which this was not. It is simply discourse among politicians, which ought to be encouraged.
Actually, Paul Ryan indicated a "safety net" for those less fortunate in his speech. He is the socialist. These Republicans are so uneducated. Only a Repub would call someone who agreed to a tax cut for the richest Americans and lowering corporate taxes a socialist. Stop using your standard talking points and get a clue.

He didn't mind socialism when he went to the University of Georgia. He doesn't mind censoring what military personnel can read on their free time. He doesn't mind lying about Obama or the CDC.

I guess some people just don't get what courtesy means. Being a Southerner, I am appalled at this Southern man's bad manners and lack of courtesy. Surely, anyone would have the good sense to know you don't do that sort of thing during a speech. It's the equivalent of heckling. I guess he needs a memo telling him how to behave.

Why doesn't this congressman have the guts to tell Obama to his face or better yet pull a Joe Wilson and yell from the crowd. He doesn't because he doesn't have any guts.
