NBC's Whitaker to join CNN

(CNN) - Mark Whitaker is moving from NBC to CNN.

CNN announced Friday morning that Whitaker, who had been serving as the Washington Bureau Chief at NBC news and who was the former editor of Newsweek, is joining CNN in the new role of executive vice president and managing editor of the network.

    God knows CNN needs all the help it can get ... unless Whitaker continues with this absurb CNN notion that the TeaParty is 24/7 headline news, in which case, he might just as well call it a day and move on.

    NBC should just get out of the news business. They aren't very good at it. The old networks just haven't adjusted to the new environment. They are dinosaurs stuck in the tar pits.
