Bachmann heading to South Carolina

Washington (CNN) - Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minnesota, will travel to the early primary state of South Carolina later this month as she mulls a possible White House bid in 2012, CNN has learned.

The outspoken conservative and Tea Party favorite will address a South Carolina Federation of Republican Women lunch in Columbia on Feb. 19, Spartanburg County Republican Party Chairwoman LaDonna Ryggs told CNN Wednesday.

Bachmann will headline a fundraiser for the Spartanburg County Republican Party later that evening.

"She is obviously exploring her options and seeing what's out there," Ryggs told CNN.

It will be Bachmann's second trip to a key presidential nominating state this year. In January, she traveled to Iowa to headline an Iowans For Tax Relief event and met with top GOP officials in the first-in-the-nation caucus state.

Correction: Bachmann will appear in Columbia and Spartanburg, not Greenville and Spartanburg as was originally reported.

There are intelligent women in the federal government. She is not one of them. Hope she decides not to run as it gives us women a bad rep.

Michelle needs to send a very strong message to the Kochs, billionaires and foreign corporations that they will not decide who the tea bagger candidate will be in 2012. Keep entertaining us GOPers.

She seems to be on the road campaigning more than she is in D.C. doing her elected job as a congressperson! She's not for the people, she's for herself.

Here are some questions – how many Black women will be in attendance? How many Hispanic women will be in attendance? Will they be allowed to ask her any questions that are not pre-vetted by her campaign handlers? Will she stay long enough to meet with any reporters other than the select few from Faux?
    Inquiring minds want to know!

The media paint the Tea Party the wrong way. Tea Party people despite the attempt to make them look that way are not religious consevatives. They are the fiscal conservative movement. Many (like myself) are socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Since this is a threat to the lefts side that might lean fiscally conservative they are painted as hard right wing conservatives with any religious beliefs being amplified.

Instead of heading to South Carolina, she needs to be heading to a history class because she obviously doesn't know American history.

Seriously! Michelle Bachman. If this is the best the party can do, I'm not worried about 2012 at all. And BTW why do the tiny states of Iowa and New Hampshire continue to have so much power. Maybe all the pandering is what destroyed this country economically in the first place. It's time for the fly-overs to learn their place and let the big kids run the show for a while. We are sick of your garbage. Some of us want excellent schools, and high-tech jobs, not burkas and guns!

["She is obviously exploring her options and seeing what's out there," Ryggs told CNN.]

Every so-called wanna-be president hopeful states the same thing!! If you are still EXPLORING options and you don't know what's out there – then you should NOT be running for President!! If you have a MISSION and you are a diehard towards that MISSION, then RUN and make the visits to different states MEAN SOMETHING!!

I think right now there is a bigger issue brewing in the mid-east that we could care less about Michelle whereabouts, We need to worry about this crisis in Egypt and how it is going to affect us Americans. Get Michelle and Palin off the headliners as if they are of any importance. Come on CNN you are loosing your credability to report on things of vital importance, Egypt, The economy, unemployment, health care etc.
