Palin: Obama's 3 a.m. call went to answering machine

Washington (CNN) - Sarah Palin, in her first comments on the uprising in Egypt, called the situation President Barack Obama's 3 a.m. phone call and said, "It seems the call went right to the answering machine."

Palin, the former GOP vice presidential candidate, spoke with Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody after her speech Friday night at the Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California.

In the interview, the potential Republican presidential candidate said, "We need to know what it is America stands for so we know who it is that America will stand with. And we do not have all that information (from the administration) yet."

She told "The Brody File" she was "not real enthused about what it is that's being done on a national level and from (Washington) in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt."

Palin criticized the administration's public response, saying "nobody yet has explained to the American public yet what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us ... who will be taking the place of (Egyptian President Hosni) Mubarak."

"In these areas that are so volatile right now because obviously it's not just Egypt but the other countries too where we are seeing uprisings, we know that now more than ever, we need strength and sound mind there in the White House," she said.

According to a transcript from CBN released Saturday evening, Palin said there were still unanswered questions on the protests that led to the upheaval.

"Remember President Reagan lived that mantra: Trust but verify," she said. "We want to be able to trust those who are screaming for democracy there in Egypt, that there is a true sincere desire for freedoms. And the challenge that we have, though, is how do we verify that what we are told, what it is that the American public are being fed via media, via protesters, via the government there in Egypt in order for us to have some sound information to make wise decisions on what our position is."

On the question of "who's going to fill the void" after Mubarak leaves office, Palin said "Is it going to be the Muslim Brotherhood? We should not stand for that, or with that, or by that."

She told the interviewer, "Any radical Islamists, no, that is not who we should be supporting or standing by. So we need to find out who was behind all the turmoil and the revolt and the protests so that good decisions can be made in terms of who we will stand by and support."

Again, America's village idiot is pops up with a completely non-directional, non-sensical criticism that would even make her most unflappable supporters go, "Huh?"

Aside from her poor english, some refer to as "word salad" What solutions does she offer? It's so easy to critcize. I might point out that when Palin drew pressure and criticism-she folded and ran (as governor of AK)

So as far as I'm concerned she has zero crediabilty. Just talks to talk......and to make money !

The people of Egypt have the right of putting whatever government they want in power. Granted, I have fears about the Muslim Brotherhood taking power, but even bigger ones about the country that I love becoming involved in yet another quagmire. Let the people of Egypt choose and do not interfere.

Apparently she's never heard of the concept of sovereignty. Egypt is its own nation and if the people there elect the Muslim Brotherhood, that's their right. Interesting how the only extremists the Tea Party wants to accept are themselves.

Reading that transcript though, maybe I'm just tired, but I have no idea what she's trying to say.

Only Republicans have openly called for Mubarak to step down now. Can you imagine if another country called for our leader to step down? They conservatives would be the first to open their mouths.
And now Palin uninformed brain tells us to llok to see if radical Islamist are behind this. If she paid attention to the news, she would know that they are not even putting a candidate up for the Presidency.
Why must these close-minded, uneducated peolpe think they know what is best for a country they could not tell you what language they speak?

As much as I loathe Sarah Palin and everything she stands for.....I agree with her on this point. Obama is calling for a transition, but to what? The people fighting each other in the streets will be the next govt (whichever side wins, that is)

Why wasn't Sarah asked how she'd handle the situation if she were president? Is she even aware that Egypt is a muslim nation?

This lady is as dumb as they come. It is nothing short of stunning that anyone would consider her opinion to be worthy of anything at all. If she wins the Republican nomination for 2012 she could not possibly garner anything more than 35% of the popular vote. It would be the blowout of blowouts. Message to right wing-nuts out there: Please nominate her in 2012.

This situation is way too complex for someone like Palin to understand. So why does she keep talking? Who is she trying to fool? Criticizing people who know WAY more than you do, Sarah, is just embarrassing. Go back to little Alaska and shut up for everyone's sake, especially your own.

The arrogance of this person is absolutely unbelievable. Who does she think she is that she can call the president to discuss world affairs. She can get her information the same way the rest of us do, from the morning paper. She is only a regular citizen as we are, not a political figure that the president needs advice from nor conversation with. She knows no more than we do about anything. Her speeches are provably written for her because she doesn't seem to understand what she is talking about. The sooner she disappears from the picture, the better off this country will be.We don't need Palin!!!!!

now the bimbo is throwing bricks in glass houses. It's easy to toss bricks. Wonder if she has any ideas to help? Ooops, that would require intelligence in foreign policy. Although maybe she can see Egypt from her front porch.

"we know that now more than ever, we need strength and sound mind there in the White House."

So, I guess that leaves Palin outta the picture. What is this nimrod even saying anything about the situation over there for?

She is such an idiot. Does she really think that it's our decision who winds up the leader of Egypt. The days of neo-colonisim is over.

There goes the idiot again talking her stupidity. I voted for McCain but now I thank God he did not win. Sarah, why don' t you just go outside your backyard and enjoy Russia?

More wisdom from the one who thinks that the view of Russia from Alaska qualifies as foreign policy experience. Reporting on her outbreaks of flatulence in public would be as enlightening as reporting on her thoughts.

Sarah Palin is the person who believed that she had foreign war experience because she could see Russia outside her Backyard!! Please give me a break, I would trust Sarah to do anything diplomatic or intelligent at a time like this. Our president is doing the best thing in this moment, which is Verifying!!

Does Sarah Palin ever go back and "re-watch" the interviews she gives? I am not a fan of her, but this has nothing to do with the way I view her. I think her IQ level is questionable!!!

  19. Palin is Clueless !

Palin the people of Alaska were waiting for you to answer the phone , but when you did answer you told them , " I QUIT " ! Sorry but you are not capable of keeping a real job , every real job you've had you quit ! So Shut UP !

Anything Palin says is about as irrelevant as a Himalayan Snow Leopard's phart. She is apparently the only one who has yet to realize this.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah... When will you ever learn that we don't care what you think.. Your opinion has no meaning. I am sure John McCain has one big regret.

This clown doesn't know where Egypt is. Of course, anything the POTUS is for she is against. FYI... Democracy is what our President is for and Hosni Mubarak has been a dictator for 30 years robbing his country blind. Can you comprehend that Wasilla's idio?

This woman is a complete moron and she has no clue as to what Reaqan actually did while he was president. He left us with a three trillion dollar deficit, increased government spending and the size of the federal government. He had no more to do with the fall of the Russian empire than I did. These are facts that even the Tea Baggers can easily find online, assuming they have the interest in doing so. The Reagan legacy as a purported uber-conservative is a complete myth. Listening to Palin talk about the Middle East is laughable and I would bet money that before the current situation in Egypt she would not have known Mubarak's name. After all, she's the one who said she could see Russia from Alaska.
