Valerie Jarrett thinks 4-star general is waiter
(CNN) - Four-star Army Gen. Peter Chiarelli - the number two general in the U.S. army - says he is absolutely not offended that Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett mistook him for a waiter at a fancy Washington dinner this week and asked him for a glass of wine.
It could have happened to anybody, Chiarelli tells CNN.

In the face of Boxer and, now, Jarrett, we can clearly see and appreciate the graciousness of both the gents who were dissed. We only wish it were reciprocated.

If this story is accurate this General deserves an apology from the White House. Being a waiter is an honorable occupation but it seems incomprehensible to me that a person who is an attorney could confuse a four star general officer with a waiter.

Well, was he dressed like one? I'd probably ask the same thing if he was dressed like one and I was in the middle of a fancy party. I doubt he was standing there with his military uniform with 4 big ol stars on it. Maybe the general needs someone to help him with his wardrobe? She was probably drinking to much.

Too funny. After she got "it" she may have felt like crap, but they all had a good laugh. That should tell her, in the future; look carefully before doing that again.
I see she up on what's going on in the country! She also seems to have a somewhat low opinion of the military!
That's okay. Republicans still mistake Obama for a muslim, and they still mistake Palin for the winner of the 2008 election.
What the big deal with this, did she knew this general personally, was he in his uniform, there are a lot of high ranking military personel that acts very casual in casual situations, and make the high ranking keep them from being approachable, and you have to consider the high ranking scene thats is in the assembly of the greatest office on the planet, she should have take more caution because you really don't know who is who around circles like that especially if they're not wearing identification.
She just assumed one of the paramount minds in the U.S. military was a waiter. Lets talk about situational awareness Valarie Jarrett. It must have been one too many glasses of wine. Thankfully the General has a sense of humor.
Probably not.
That kind of mistake simply shows the arrogance of some kinds of people.
