Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama and Republican leaders in the House agreed Wednesday that their lunch meeting at the White House yielded some common ground.
Obama considered the meeting with House Speaker John Boehner and his top deputies "constructive" and cited general agreement with them on the need to reduce spending and the deficit, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters.
I hope the President didn't compromise on the high speed rail proposal. If he really wants to see job growth and manufacturing jobs coming back, he shouldn't cave in an inch on that project.
Where are the jobs, Mr. Weeper? The American people have spoken and they want jobs! Jobs, jobs, jobs!
Hey look-–it's Larry, Mo, and Curly!
good... now get jobs going... free up credit... work together for the folks....
Really
There are so many big issues I bet they won’t find any common ground on those issues
Cut spending yes they find the common ground but they don’t know what to cut next two years they will discuss what to cut.
They find the common ground on immigration yes secure the border they will talk about that next two years but they won’t reform
They find the common ground on 9 % unemployment yes create jobs next two years they will discuss who will create jobs government or private sector
Next two years do nothing house, do nothing senate and do nothing white house
I am sure that the number one republican issue was discussed: stopping abortion. I do not believe the GOP could have elected a more incompetent bunch of boobs to lead the house. Any chance that a republican will figure out that jobs is the number one priority of a great majority of Americans? I thought not. Still waiting to find out the CBO report on the cost of job killing republican Boner Care.
I guess this means the tea-drinkers will be voting them out next cycle,
How dare they compromise!
I hope this means we'll be getting policy measures that don't just favor the haves of this world!!
ReFascisticans
I hope the President didn't compromise on the high speed rail proposal.

What a joke. There really is someone out there who believe Joe Biden's contention that the trains are not about Obama's ego but that they will create jobs at less than $100 million each. Don't you remember the 4 million job Stimulus bill?!?! And then unemployment kept going up and up and up....
Good Afternoon, Three Stooges.
We had a delicious LUNCH that could create a Common ground with impair judgment, until the next LUNCH.
"I felt something, after I ate. What's in it???".
Did boner cry? did cantor bring his maalox?
I am sure the party of no already has a plan to make themselves and their rich friends and corporation even richer while screwing the middle class and the poor.
BTW – LEAVE MY SOCIAL SECURITY ALONE. I don't want the rethugs or anyone in Congress messing with my retirement after the debacle of the shrub years!
I can't believe Dumb (Boehner) and Dumber ( Cantor ) are in charge ... what a joke.
Do you remember the Chinese President, HU who got one shot with Champagne glass before he signed the trade balance agreement with US???
HU finally, agreed everything the US President says.
What a smart move!

Where are the jobs, Mr. Weeper? The American people have spoken and they want jobs! Jobs, jobs, jobs!
and I say ........... jobs jobs jobs jobs!!!
Just wondering if they found common ground on what seems to be the most pressing issues in the Republican controlled house right now. "Re-difining rape and starting the abortion war all over again"
The high speed rail idea is something this country needed 10+ years ago. Obama should'n't back down on this when it comes to the budget this country needs to be more connected in that manner and such a large construction project WILL create NUMEROUS jobs. Saying that we need to worry about the deficit everytime the president wants to invest in things we ACTUALLY need is childish and playing political games. Especially since these things should've been what we spent our SURPLUS on instead of 2 dumb wars and tax cuts for millionaires.
"Don't you remember the 4 million job Stimulus bill?!?! "
Many in Minnesota remember the Stimulus bill . . . the jobs it produced here in Minnesota kept many who would have otherwise been unemployed, employed.
