Barbour asked to denounce attempts to honor KKK leader

(CNN) - The Mississippi NAACP has called on Gov. Haley Barbour to publicly denounce an attempt by a Confederacy group to honor a Ku Klux Klan leader, the organization said Monday.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans has launched the campaign to recognize Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest on a specialty license plate.

Hi my name is Forrest, Forrest Gump.....(in the movie, he was realted to General Nathan Bedford Forrest), LOL

Only in the South, you know them good ole' Christians people, would put a racist thugh like Bedford Forrest up for an honor. Where the heck has the South been for the last 270 years? Are you people insane???

You people really need to reedem yourself and very quickly, so get your baseball bats and go to work on this Sons of Confederate Veterans group and don't stop until you have either knocked some sense back into them or knocked it out completely to where thsy can't tie their own shoes any more. This is really getting ridiculous in the 21st century.

I will be shocked if Boss Hog obliges. He would alienate his "base" if he denounced these bigots!

LOL Sorry Haley but doing this now I doubt will get you anymore support from not only African Americans but others in your run for POTUS. Sure you'll have the right wingers say "look at what he's done, proves he's out for ALL people" It's kind of like the old argument used by far right conservatives that they have Black friends or that they like Tiger Woods.

I may not agree with this specialty license plate to honor Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, and I don't agree with racist groups such as the NAACP and The New Black Panthers. So until people are willing to get rid of these racist groups and racist people such as Al Sharpton, I say keep the plate and honor the General. Like they say..."What's good for the goose is good for the gander"

This will tell you as much about Mississippi as it does about Barbour.

Barbour should denounce the call from the Sons of Confederate Veterans to recognize someone who was a bigot and a racist. I guess NAACP has every right to face the issue head on, stop the ridiculous idea and a move that will move us backwards instead of forward. Mr. Barbour has been caught saying stupid things previously and will not surprise me if he lets those people get there way. It just surprises me that those people claim to be Christians , act so stupid, ignorant, uneducated , not look at themselves in the mirror and see they are no different than anyone else. Those people are poison to the society and roadblock to progress. Thanks to the many good citizens of our great country we have made slow progress and one day we will reach the summit of human acceptance. God Bless.

"If we can't hold him up to where he's supposed to be, then nobody else is gonna do it," group member Greg Stewart said--------------------------------------------------–
    You're right.
I say you "hold him up" to where Forrest felt all Black folks should be held up...... a tree.
    Got rope?
Yea, I know he's dead, but they can still do it in effigy.
Dance past this one Babar. Your closet is bursting at the seams.

Why will Barbour be against it when he's probably a KKK member himself.
