Obama's 2012 budget is really, really long
Washington (CNN) - As hoards of economists, activists and interns begin the arduous task of combing through the newly released 2012 Federal Budget, a caution: the tome (including its 1,360 page appendix) is 2,403 pages long.
This is the equivalent of a double dose of Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind," and far surpasses Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" (1,079 pages), Tolstoy's "War and Peace" (1,296 pages) and even the 3rd edition of Merriam Webster's New College Dictionary (1,536 pages).
Most editions of the Bible pale in comparison, many of which have less than 1,000 pages, according to a search on Amazon.com.

What kind of nonsense is this??? If you would do a word-count, okay... but comparing the number of pages in a double/tripple spaced document to a Dictionary with 6pt font size...??? Serious???
It is long but cheaper. Do we care if it has too many words on it? Read it and talk about the CONTENT!

I would expect the yearly budget for the U.S. to be lengthy.
...and the GOP is already hitting back at the proposal. Did they actually read it? I don't think so.
Time to hold the GOP accountable for hyper- partisanship and hyprocrisy. Put them on in Primetime and question (grill) them about the details and what they would do instead (with specifics). Also have in hand the past 10 years of budgets for them to answer to. The truth will become more clear that the GOP will say anything to make this admistration look bad – include the half-truths, lies, deceptive quotes, and on and on.
This political spin cycle (or what I call Obama bashing to the nth degreee) needs to stop. There are heard working people around this country who don't care about who will run in 2012 – they care about what is going on today.
Well, if there are more than two pages, the republicans and right wingnuts will not read it, but they will falsely criticize like they know what they are talking about.
That means that Beck's Bagger Brotherhood will never know what is in it.
Big budgets, indicate spending, not cutting.
We all know the ConservaFascists hate to read. This should really get under their skin. I love it. Real legislation can't be scrammed into a 10 page pamphlet called "A Pledge to America."

Patently ridiculous. You think solving our financial problems and getting the economy going is a simple matter of simplistic pie charts and hack-n-slash ideological funding cuts? This is the kind of thorough, in-depth analysis and hard work I expect to get for the $400K we're paying Obama and the hundreds of thousands of dollars we're paying the myriad experts and analysts who contributed to his budget proposal...not 3 page budget proposals with pictures and no numbers like the GOP set forth in 2009. None of this is easy, nor is it amenable to superficial budgetary adjustments motivated by partisan ideological policy positions...NONE OF IT...and if the only response you have to a budget proposal that gets rid of $1.1 TRILLION of deficit over the next 10 years (compared to the GOP's $100 Trillion IF IF IF they manage to find their way to $100B per year as they promised), is to criticize for being lengthy and in-deptgh, then the simple fact is that YOU DON'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AT ALL.
