Obama's budget appeals to independents

Washington (CNN) - Criticism of President Obama's $3.7 trillion 2012 budget from both the left and right is a sign that it will probably find favor with independents, an expert on the influential voting bloc said.

"Independent voters believe if the far right and the far left are both upset, it's usually a sign that someone's doing something right," said John Avlon, a CNN contributor and author of the book "Independent Nation: How Centrism Can Change American Politics."

Once again CNN is desperately trying to carry the water for this failed president. What exactly about a $1.6 trillion deficit for FY 2012 does this "expert" think independents will embrace? CNN does a story centered around the biased opinion of an "expert" that no one has heard of?

Way to live up to that "most trusted name in news" moniker, CNN.

    Stay centrist, Mr. President.
Most of us like you more that way.

Republican/Tea Partiers have no credibility on the budget: 10 years of out-of-control spending; obscene tax cuts for their wealthy benefactors; and proposals that not only hurt the poor and middle classes, they are simply mean spirited. Meanwhile, their proposal INCREASES Defense spending (already the porkiest in the world).

Republican/Tea Partiers have no real values except to say "I've got mine". They are an ati-American force in today's political landscape.

I would diagree with the author about the Independent Voters approving of that bloated continuation of wild spending. The Independents are just as adamant as the consevatives are on binge spending.

I agree that if the far left and far right are both equally outraged you probably have the right idea. I would offer one caveat; in the current political climate, if Obama breathes, the far right is outraged. Take that into account.

You really gotta wonder when the GOPers/conservatives are going to stop accepting more rope. How much is enough? Hold on...you go pick out a ceiling fan and Obama will grab you a chair...

President Obama is showing extraordinary leadership in exceptional trying times. Can’t wait to be amused the comments from the nuts who contribute to this blog. You know the so called conservatives with their clever one liners conveying just how truly delusional their view of the world is. No wonder the GOP continues to cultivate this rich group of really stupid people that demand angry outburst from their politicians that have very little regard to facts and reality.

America is just now waking up to the fact that the most vocal leaders in the GOP are fake and their followers have successfully devoured the GOP from within.

Obama's budget is about Obama. He's abdicated his leadership role in averting this financial disaster because a second term is more important to him than the financial health of the country he supposedly serves. That's not leadership, that's egotistical arrogance.

Ever since the President has been the only adult on all rumbling. The far right as well as the far left always force people to swallow the very bitter pill, which can not even pass through the throat, without showing even a little sympathy!
