Bachmann relying on faith for 2012 decision

(CNN) – She's making visits to all the crucial early-voting states, but Rep. Michele Bachmann says she won't run for president unless she feels a sense of "inner assurance."

Speaking to the Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody, the Minnesota Republican and tea party favorite says prayer and reflection will ultimately drive her decision-making process.

"I think it will be an inner assurance more than anything of what I am supposed to do," Bachmann said in the interview published Friday.

"We're strong people of faith. My husband and I gave our lives to the Lord when we were 16 years of age and so that's been a long time now," she continued. "We're both almost 55 years old and that has been the greatest help and source of stability for both of us to have that ability in prayer to look to the Lord for guidance and I can't say enough how important that's been to us to give us that rock of assurance on which path we should go."

Bachmann's comments came ahead of a trip Friday to South Carolina – one of the handful of early primary states that is often crucial in deciding who the party's nominee will be. She has also made trips to Iowa and will visit New Hampshire in March as she mulls a presidential bid.

"I think the voters in particular, in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, they have a tremendous opportunity. But also, a sacred duty, if you will, because they will be choosing our next nominee and 2012 is a crucial window," Bachmann said. "Again, we have to get the policy right in 2012, or we could be looking at a vast sea of red ink. The United States of America now think of this. The greatest nation that has ever been known in the annals in history, we could become a Greece if we don't reverse course, quickly."

Riiiiight...either that or partisan strategy to have you run in order to further motivate and rile those who have been duped by the Koch suckers...I mean brothers...and Dick Armey into believing Astroturf Frankenstein wasn't really just sewn together solely to provide political cover for the GOP to move waaaaaaay off to the right and then pretend that all the centrist crap Obama predictably did was a "radical leftist agenda" based on the shifted appearance of where the center lies as a result of their manufactured right wing extremist gravitational field (and despite a lot of what Obama and the Dems have done being crap the GOP itself proposed several years ago, like the ACA, or close to it). After all, Jaberwocky Barbie is doing horrible in the polls, Angle was proven to be a dud and O'Donell couldn't cute her way into they needed to find some other vapid talknig-opint-parrot bimbo to lead the Teatards around by their divining rods.

How is it that someone re-elected to their seat just 3 short months ago, on a campaign promise to fix the American economy, can justify traveling to key primary states instead of being in D.C. doing her job?

Does she ever work? I often wonder how people who claim to be of strong faith can go around criticizing and hating everyone. Don't their god teaches them any better?
So much for christianity and preaching what love and tolerance What's up with those lines on her face. Botox gone bad??? 🙂 🙂

Here we go again, another Christian that speaks hates against one another, and say Jesus is Lord of her life, but she continues to spread lies, hates her fellowman etc....I believe it was Jesus who said Love one another as I have Loved you. So if you are going to call yourself a Christian start living what you preach.

She's not the brightest bulb in the box, but she's smart enough to deliver the sound bites that her base wants to hear.

all these right wingers that say such stupid and negative things, then they fall back on being a Christian really makes a mockery of the Christian religion. She's just like Sarah Palin, she's a "born again Christian" only when it's convient to be one. As a believer myself these type of folks really are an insult.

FAITH – HOPE – and CHARITY – that's what she AND Palin AND Angle AND ginGRINCH AND Pawlenty AND Daniels AND Santorum AND Barbour AND Huck-A-Bye AND Romney AND Paul AND even Christie are waiting for AND on top of that – a WING and a PRAYER!!!

They are all using the $CHARITY$ that's coming from all of the people on the RIGHT that are being mislead into FALSE HOPE that their candidate will win in 2012!! The candidates are using the $funds$ to travel all over the country; hotel, eat and evening entertainment for their satisfaction or to endorse a BOOK!!! What a Pity!!

Never in the Book of Revelations did God promise a plague of yahoos! What if Jesus said, "Michelle, this would be an excellent idea.....after I get the Big Man to make pigs fly!"

OK Liberals, don't get crazy now, Jesus was not a social Liberal, actually he was as "orthodox/conservative" as they come when it comes to faith, where Jesus' beliefs becomes a Liberal is in his pacifism and keeping the faith away from government, something today’s bloodthirsty conservatives lack....

He himself (according to the Bible) was very Conservative, but his Liberal side it comes out in how he treated others, and even his enemies. So the best way to describe Jesus is a Conservative Pacifist.

Of course, today’s Conservatives take the orthodox side of Jesus, the ultra-conservative side and then perverted it and turn it on people they don't agree with, and then when it comes to treating others (especially those who they disagree with) then they go back to the Old Testament where God is a jealous God, and a vengeful God....

That "inner assurance" isn't God speaking to you Michelle. You just have a bad case of gas.

That's right Michelle, keep praying until God tells you to run. You just have to make sure you're not hallucinating or seeing a divine sign where there is none.

OH jeezuez...Bachmann is another one of those "Bored" again christians like Bushie-43 awaitin' on the voices in their heads to tell her what to do.

If your criteria for decison making is – voices in yer head – maybe you should seek mental health care help not political office....

All these Republican talking-head candidates are just part of Karl Rove and Grover Norquist's game plan to keep their "base" riled up and motivated to once again go to the polls and vote against their own self-interest.

Because, Lord knows, Republicans can't run on policy: All their economic, military and foreign policies of the last 30 years are PROVEN FAILURES. It'd be one thing if the Republicans had some successes to point to, BUT THEY DON'T.

When are folks going to wake up to the fact that our country deserves better than these slime dogs? While all you nincompoops once again get suckered by all this anti-gay, anti-abortion, pro-gun, birther nonsense, the rest of the world is educating its children and developing tomorrow's technology.

And we will be left in the dust ...

She has to rely on faith.....there is no brain there. Just an empty head full of entitlement and dogma and ego. Wow, this is what the republican party is now with it's women constitutents. Take a good, long,,,,,look. It's pathetic. If not tragic,,,for them.

I don't mind people having their religious background being noted when they speak. I have a problem when it becomes a major part of their decision making process in a country that is supposed to be secular (not endorsing a religion).

What are the debates going to be about on the right???? Fighting to see who is the most "conservative"??? Yep, and that would take them so far to the RIGHT – the Independents are going to "break" the fishing line and let the entire LOAD get away!!!

If Ms. Bachmann really listened she would hear God saying, "Please, Michelle. Stop telling lies." But like all wingnuts, she only hears what she wants to hear. I recall that God also whispered in George Bush's ear.

With all due respect Mrs. Bachmann, you might want to try to work on loving your neighbor as yourself first. Because no matter how many good-works or "sacred duties" you perform, if you don't have Love, the Bible says you have done nothing but make alot of noise (I Corinthians 13:1). Furthermore, Prov. 6-16-19 says, " These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

    – A proud look
    – A lying tongue
    – Hands that shed innocent blood
    – A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations
    – Feet that are swift in running to mischief
    – A false witness that speaketh lies and
    – He (she) that soweth discord among brethren..."

So, I think that you had better clean up your act in these areas first if you truly want to lead this nation, and do so by invoking your faith.
