SHUT IT DOWN!! SHUT IT ALL DOWN!!! If the DemoCommunistas can't find even a few billion to cut, then they have no intention of cutting ANYTHING. This $1.6 TRILLION DEFICIT fiasco simply cannot continue unchallenged. The leftists of the DemoCommunist Party (that thought they'd maintain control of the House last November) simply REFUSE TO LISTEN TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. They refused to listen when they jammed their unconstitutional healthcare entitlemt down our throats. They refused to listen on cap and trade and have now tried an end run by executive fiat.

You have been warned leftists. THIS IS NOT 1995. You do not control the media any longer and the American people have awaken to your destructiveness. Refusing to cut the spending will result in catastrophic DemoCommunista loses come 2012. For that you can thank Obama, reid and Pelosi. The architects of the destruction of your party.

It's just like a home when you over spend, you put your checkbook in the red and you can't keep spending because there is nothing left in the bank account and you can't keep borrowing from family and friends because sooner or later they want their money back. You can only stretch a dollar so much. The only thing left to do is to cut down your spending, priorities your spending.

The insane patients running the asylum can shut the government down. We, the People, of the former middle class know fully well which party to blame and to reject at the ballot box in the next election. Any chance of the GOP/Teahadists ever holding either the Executive and/or the Legislative Branch will not materialize for a very long time. We, the People, of the former middle class are fed up and will not take any more nonsense from the GOP/Teahadists! We wish to be viable once again and move this great nation forward. We will no longer beholden to the corporations, banksters, hedge fund managers, etc…that ruined and collapsed our country! Please, find a rally near your city and attend. Tomorrow, we make our voices heard! Save the American Dream!!!

And baggers? When your government check(s) is/are not deposited in your bank account, call your elected representative, you know...the one that YOU voted for and tell him/her to get back to work and work WITH the other party and President to reach a compromise move our country forward!

    Yes, GOPers, follow Newtered's advice:

Step 1: Cause government shutdown that leaves hundreds of thousands of public employees and their families without paychecks, contracts the economy, adds to the unemployment problem (in the private sector as well), etc. etc. etc.

Step 2: Blame the government shutdown on everybody else, especially the other tribe.

Step 3: Wait and hope for good stuff to start happening, like, oh, I dunno, a huge economic bubble caused by rampant internet company growth that you had nothing to do with.

Step 4: Claim that all the good stuff happened because of the shutdown.

Step 5: Give yourself all the credit and tell everyone you deserve it because, after all, you forced the gov't shutdown to happen.

    Step 6: cuts....

    Step 7: Profit?

Step 8: Cause massive recession and use it to rinse and repeat.

No, actually, it's not at all like that. It's more like you own a nice home with a certain mortgage payment due every month, water bills, real estate taxes, landscaping costs, etc. etc., but you decide that instead of staying at your nice job that helps you just barely meet those obligations, you're going to quit your job to go work at Burger King. Then, when the house starts falling apart, the water's shut off, the yard is a mess and the town assessor files a municipal tax lien, you act all suprised and claim that it's all the bank's, assessor's and other creditors' faults that everything's in shambles and, all the funnier, you somehow reach the conclusion that the solution for saving the house is finding a way to reduce the mortgage payments, water bills, tax liability, etc., because as god as your witness you're not willing to go back to that high paying job that takes so much work and sacrifice.

@DemoCommie – If you look like a wacko, walk like a wacko, and quack like a wacko, you're a wacko... and obviously you are. All insults and slogans... long on anger, short on rationality. Thanks for the laugh.

Yes, and for the slow ones out there who didn't get the analogy (which was purposeful...I wanted the idiot conservatives out there nodding their heads as if I was talking about all those lazy evil minorities who are mooching off entitlement programs that the conservatives are always going on about), the high paying job that takes so much work and sacrifice is the tax rate prior to the GOP enacting massive inequitable tax cuts that primarily benefitted the ultra-wealthy and were paid for by the middle-class. You reduce your income willy-nilly at your own peril and sometimes lose the house. The correct approach is to move into a tiny apartment first and reduce the expenses BEFORE you decide Burger King income is all you'll ever need. Last I checked, almost every poll out there shows people like their McMansion government that provides SS, Medicare and whatever other benefits THEY THEMSELVES ARE RECEIVING (or at least will someday be entitled to)...but they then turn around and say that everything that isn't of direct benefit to themselves should be cut, because, well, screw you, I've got mine, I want more and I don't want to pay more for any of it. And, of course, then there's the GOP, who gives their corporate and ultra-rich buddies more in the form of tax cuts and then , because those buddies tell them they don't want to pay for it, they promise to move everyone else (the middle-class) into a tiny loft apartment near the dump so their corporate donors can set it on fire while we're in bed.

They don't get the analogy. They never will.
Big business shipped our manufacturing jobs overseas. The Republicans rolled back taxes for the wealthy and never offset spending, W started a war with lies as the reason and kept the debt off the books while borrowing from China. Democrats had their hands in this too, no way they can justify the spending. Lax oversight of the investment banking sector allowed them to package mortgages into monstrous equities no one understood. They sold them to pension funds because they had AAA ratings, again, lax oversight by government watchdogs that were supposed to make sure this didn't happen. (thanks Republicans)
Things went to the dogs and we didn't have manufacturing to pick up the pieces. Housing market goes belly up, pension funds fall apart and all of a sudden we are staring another great depression in the face.
Thanks top the policies of this administration, we averted that. Cudos to the Obama administration for working hard and pulling the nationand the world back from the brink.
Regardles what the Right wing says, the truth is there. And NO, Fox is not dealing in the truth. The Murrdocs don't believe truth matters. Heck, they're not even AMERICANS.
