Obama takes heat from GOP in Wisconsin

(CNN) –The Republican National Committee is going up on Wisconsin airwaves with a television ad that blasts President Obama for "standing in the way of economic reform" and "intimidating taxpayers."

One day after Republican Gov. Scott Walker unveiled his budget to rein in the state government's $3.6 billion dollar deficit, the RNC released the ad to urge support for the governor whose cost-cutting bill ignited protests weeks ago.

According to an RNC statement, the ad is designed to showcase "the effort by Democrats and government unions to obstruct Republican reforms to tackle the debt at all levels of government" and slams preparations for Obama's re-election campaign, saying that "he'll spend every penny" of a "billion dollar campaign."

Grouping him with "union bosses" the ad claims that Obama is "intimidating taxpayers" and "leaving classrooms empty" in an effort to rally supporters to "stop Obama and his union bosses today."

Union members flocked to the Wisconsin state capitol in Madison in recent weeks following the introduction of a bill that would limit collective bargaining rights for state workers. The bill has stalled in the state assembly since members of the Democratic delegation left the state and prevented the quorum needed to vote. Walker has called for the legislators to return.

In their statement, the RNC said that "Democrats and their union allies insist on standing in the way of strong Republican budget reforms…With the same union bosses lined up to fund Barack Obama's billion dollar re-election campaign, we must continue to stand with Republican governors across the country." The ad was originally released on the internet but only started airing on paid television Wednesday.

The ad will run through the end of the week in Madison and Milwaukee.

Bizarre GOP attack against President Obama - guess they are getting desperate. President Obama hasn't spoken much at all about the Wisconsin issue. The only thing he has said is that while we need to tighten our belts and balance our budgets, Walker's attempts appeared to be more about union busting than anything else. Hardly a controversial statement since this is obvious. The GOP is nervous because people are starting to see the truth behind all their misrepresentations and that truth is that the GOP works for billionaires and large corporations that have been sucking up all of America's wealth. The GOP does the bidding of these special interests and then makes the middle class pay for the subsidies and tax breaks given to these groups. If you want to start seeing the middle class recover, vote Democrat.

If the unions have agreed to all the give backs that the governor has asked for, then why is he not taking that and getting in writing? If he really wants things to move along, then agree to what the union has offered and move on. Obama and many other Americans are for collective barginning. What is wrong with it? If there is something that needs to be changed in time of need, then ask. Corzine did that with the unions in NJ.

Please tell the rest of the world how Obama is going drive up oil prices. Also, what you are advocating, please tell me if I am wrong, that you are in favor of the US continuing to be dependent on foreign oil, giving US oil/gas company's tax breaks, etc. Instead of putting our best efforts to beat the rest of the world in developing clean energy, you would rather see us do nothing. Instead of investing in technology and small businesses that can hire Ams., you would rather have no new clean energy small businesses forming or have the unemployed be employed....What are you exactly saying? Oh, I get it; this is another opportunity for you to blame Obama for high oil prices, even though he has no control over the matter. This is ok in your mind because you want to blame Obama for everything anyway.

Here a few facts: (1) both China and India are increasing their consumption of oil and other energy products and (2) the Middle-East and North Africa are going through upheavals, with an uncertain outcomes...two contributing causes to the price of oil is changing...Please explain how Obama can control these events.

Finally, I am a minority, African-Am. in fact. I see Obama as the President of the United States, not the President of Black America. I want to seriously say I feel sorry for you...but I cannot feel sorry of ignorant individuals who prefer to say ignorant. Brother, finally, sounds like you fear minorities...well there is nothing to fear...I don't want anything you possess, because it is apparent your ignorance has not gotten you far in life, compared to my college education and middle-class, debt-free, lifestyle that I earned through work.

It's obvious and clear that the Fleebaggers / democrats never miss an opportunity to bash their opponents. Maybe if they didn't run from their jobs they could be respected even a little bit. Then again maybe not.

Just the contued war by the Republican/Tea Party on the working class. Why would anyone but a millionaire vote for them? They only care about themselves and the very rich, and they couldn't tell the truth if their pants were on fire!

Obama has been painfully silent on the Wisconsin issue. And let's be honest... 😐
I say, if they want to lie about Obama and the Democrats, Obama and the Democrats should simply tell the truth about them. Hey, where did that 3 billion dollar shortfall come from? OH! That's right!! TAX CUTS

You realize that an actual grown individual made a this decision. I can see how the meeting goes now - here's an idea, let's spend some money blaming Obama, the people will believe it because we've trained them not to think for themselves. In fact, we trained them to know that were lying, but not care because we've got them so focus on blaming Obama.

Memo to the people –America is going from leaders in technology to leaders in brainwashing. But as long as we've got someone to blame or hate, we're cool.

Ugh Republicans. Anyone notice how glenn beck is now repeating the phrase "America is a Republic, not a Democracy". I think he's trying subliminal manipulation on the seniors for 2012.

I don't be long too a Union but the GOV,OF Wisconsin can't force people to drop their Union. It call your First Amendment right under the U.S. Constitution, It call the freedom of choice. Maybe you GOP people should try and read It some time, because we all know that some of you don't know It like Saran Palin ,Michele Bachmann and other In the GOP. You GOP people keep listen too the KOCH'S BROTHER and keep right this and they won't be so many Republican around In 2012.

People need to realize this is about "Public Unions" not "Private Unions". There is no reason Public Unions should exists at the State and Local levels. The Feds have been using the Government Employees System for decades and it works very well in getting and keeping competitive workers. States and Local Government should institute a GS type solution and disband all Public Unions. BTW I am still wiating for a Liberal to explain why the Feds don't have a Public Union, but you dont see the Fed Employees complaining.

And you all thought I was being silly when I said that cyclical recessions are corporate America's purposeful crack of the whip at the middle-class to make people willing to accept less for doing more and to generate resentment betweena nd amongst the middle-class so nobody can manage to organize a fully united front against corporate abuses. Sigh. Just...look...at...the...freekin...numbers. This isn't rocket science and it's not even cleverly hidden. Myriad corpoartions and industries reported RECORD PROFITS during this recession and they are sitting on BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars. The DOW went right back up over 10K. The rich have experienced a 281% growth in their wealth and assets since 1979 while the middle-class stayed pretty much the same..stagnant salaries that failed to keep up with inflation, ballooning average household debt for mortgages, school loans, car loans, and other consumer debt products THAT THE GIANT CORPORATIONS ARE INVESTING IN and have extremely excessive interest rates. And yet, no job creation. Why? They don't like the current set of puppets. Their strangehold on the government slipped in 2008 and they're waiting until they fully run things again...waiting until you've suffered sufficiently to walk back to them on your knees asking to do the same job for less money, decreased benefits and for longer hours per day. This isn't about "too big to fail." This is about "too big to control"...THEY OWN THE COUNTRY, OUR GOVERNMENT AND THE JACKHOLES YOU VOTE FOR TO REPRESENT YOU...and they have full control over the economy and whether it goes up, down, sideways or out the window. They knew exactly what risks were being taken while the Bush administration and GOP congress slept at the wheel and cut backroom deals with major industries. It's not conspiracy theories. It's blatant. They have said in no uncertain terms: "if you want jobs, America, you have to accept that we want you to take the same pay and treatment we dish out to the third world slave labor we exploit. You will answer to the name Toby or we won't come calling at all."
