Gingrich site falls prey to web trick

(CNN) – What's in a name, you say?

For one potential presidential candidate's website, a lot, it turns out.

Visitors to will see the new site launched by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich as he unofficially tests the presidential campaign waters. Visitors to, however, will be redirected to, the exploratory website set up by former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, who announced on Thursday that he has formed an official presidential exploratory committee.

At an event just hours before Roemer's announcement, Gingrich explained his intention to begin an "exploratory phase" as he weighs a presidential bid. But in case the former congressman does decide to officially get in the race, and drop "explore" from his website's name, he's already off to a slow start in the domain game. Someone snapped up, for example, in 2007.

For the record, Roemer insisted in an interview with the National Journal on Friday that his team had nothing to do with the internet trick.

The caption should be "Check this out. Looky at what I got here", because that's sure what it looks like. Not much of a story here, Newt that is.

I think I'll throw my hat into the ring. Everybody's doing it. Folks you just don't know. I'd actually make a better president than what's being marched around in Iowa and South Carolina right about now. No wonder nothing gets done. Exploratory. Jeeez!

Old Newt is on the cutting-edge of technology. I'm astounded that a single person out of the 300 million plus Americans would consider voting for this slimy weasel. I wish the Republicans would offer a couple of mature, honest adults for the 2012 contest. Forget the hateful, lying fundamental Christian, anti-environment, tight-arsed Tea Baggers. Give me somebody who can talk about real solutions for long-range problems. Give me somebody who isn't a corporate prostitute! Is that too much to ask? For now, President Obama has my vote and my money to run his campaign. He is the only candidate willing and able to face the problems of the day. Grow up GOP! Everybody isn't a stupid, white hick!

  3. GOP = Greed Over People

One banished from Congress and one ran the state that is only prevented from being last out of 50 because of Mississippi.

Quite appropriate, these to losers are joined at the hip in cyberspace.

I would vote for Newt over Barack the Liberal Elitist in moderate clothing, but Newt is not my favorite with the baggage he has as Speaker. The unemployment does not count those who quit looking for jobs and those who are under employed (over 15%) like my wife. We need to fix the budget and deficit and not raised taxes. Taxed enough already!

Newt, like Barack did not uphold the "Laws of the United States".

It could not happen to a more deserving family values womanizer than Newt.

One Republican tricking another. The whole party is becoming a party of tricksters. They are eating their own. Good for them.

Who's the woman in the picture...current mistress or current wife (which would be most current previous mistress)? Hard to keep track with old Newt.

Where in the heck do these politicians come from, and how in the heck do they assume positions of power over the rest of us !!! Instead of wasting a year creating the unconstitutional, pork laden, trillion dollar Obamacare monstrosity ... why didn't our corrupt self-serving representatives simply implement competition across state lines for health insurance, tort reform ... and, a way for the 30 million uninsured to get help, without destroying our free enterprise system ... a system which made America great ... and, without picking the pockets of the hard working, Americans, who are responsible enough to buy their own insurance. In retrospect, it appears that it was all a power grab by Obama and his gang of corrupt democratic thugs. The same traitors who are high jacking America, and destroying our economy, by handing it over to the unions. To save America, we must get rid of these traitors, and return our country's leadership to someone like Newt Gingrich, who wants to restore America to her former greatness, instead of changing America into a country which is beyond recognition ... a third world country ... a country which is no longer America !!!

Looks like Callista's getting a little "long in the tooth". Could be about time for Newt to trade her in on a newer model, he seems to do that frequently.
