National debt: 'Time for gridlock is over'

Washington - As lawmakers continued to butt heads over how much spending should be cut over the next seven months, a few senators on Tuesday were trying to keep the focus where they think it belongs - the next several decades.

"The time for gridlock is over. We do not have time to go around the bush and around the bush and around the bush to debate the specifics of our perfect solutions," said Republican Sen. Mike Crapo.

The time for gridlock is over? What a relief. Just out of curiosity, when was the time right for gridlock?

These six are totally correct. The other 100 senators and is it 455 House members are playing politics and not dealing with the fundamental problem and issue. $61bn from Discretionary spending is a joke and hardly amounts to drop in the combined Pacific and Atlantic oceans of US debt!!
Remember the song " where have all the flowers gone? Ending up with gone to graveyards every one."
If our whole Congress continues arguing about Peanuts or idological $61bn or whatever our economy and the government shutdown or what, is headed to the graveyard, and there will not even be a dead flower in sight!!

this democrat wants this goverment to shut down because it will help the middle class. when a bank is in termoil the value of the stck goes down. if the goverment shuts down in termoil than the value of the dollar will go down. a lessor value dollar makes imports cost more and us made products cost less. that puts people back to work to deal with the increase demade. the people who will get hurt are the wealthy because their value goes down if its based on the american dollar. other countries will invest more in america because stocks will be cheaper. yes it could start inflation. remember when green span the finacial wizzed raised interest rates because wages were going up and could case inflation. well that increase was done in a declining GDP which started the snow ball down hill. we did have a double dip ressesion. the trade towers in new york did run the stock market down he did early that year. the second part of the double dip is what we are coming out of now. shut it down GOP so i can watch the top 2% you hold so dear get from you !
