Palin: Wisconsin union bosses 'acting like thugs'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin once again sounded off on the Wisconsin budget debate, calling on union supporters to tone down the rhetoric.

The former Alaska governor told Fox News' Sean Hannity union bosses are "acting like thugs" and it is their responsibility to "turn down the rhetoric and start getting truth out there so that nobody gets hurt."

"They are leading some of their good members down a road that will result in, unfortunately, somebody getting hurt if you believe the death threats that are being received by those who just happen to support amending some collective bargaining privileges of state unions," Palin said Thursday.

Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald received two death threats via e-mail, according to a spokesman for the senator.

After weeks of demonstrations in Madison, Wisconsin over collective bargaining rights of public sector union workers, state lawmakers passed an amended version of a bill Thursday that would limit the bargaining rights of most state workers.

In a February Facebook post, Palin encouraged union workers to stand up to their bosses.

"At the end of the day, they're not fighting for your pension or health care plan or even for the sustainability of Wisconsin's education budget," Palin wrote. "They're fighting to protect their own powerful privileges and their own political clout."

Why does she wait till the debate is over to say something? Was she urging people to tone down the debate when Health Care Reform was causing riots, and people were picturing the president as a Nazi? Was she telling Rand Paul or Joe Miller to control their goons, who actively beat and stomped people? Did any of the union folks attack the GOP legislators?

Her facebook statement is laughable, since those same words apply far more accurately to Governor Walker and the GOP state senators, not to mention the people funding them.

This hypocrite is asking for someone to tone down their rhetoric when all she does is stir up trouble. This is one woman that I borderline hate, she is like the scum of the earth never practicing what she preaches!

She just described Walker and his Republican cronies......................yeah that would be the Koch brothers!! She really needs to just crawl back into the igloo she crawled out of.

This sounds oddly familiar. Oh, now I remember, like when Gabrielle Giffords warned Palin that "somebody could
get hurt" using crosshairs in ads. But. of course, Palin would rather blabber that heed someone else's warnings.

Who asked her? She's a loon. It's not like they're painting targets on elected leaders and urging people to 'lock and load.' She's quick to urge violence when her own side is losing. Let them go on and ban the unions, it will be instructive to watch the GOP bringing them back and apologizing.

Sarah Palin? Really? She doesn't even know where Wisconsin is and I'm surprised she can even spell "union."

So the woman who uses crosshairs to mark vulnerable house/senate districts is telling someone to tone down the rhetoric? The woman who abused her power to remove her political enemies in Alaska is complaining about thugs?

Calling a repeal of most collective bargaining "amending some collective privileges" is a very clever redirection of the issue most important to the protesters.

There are at least two ways of being a "thug." It needs to be clear that the Wisconsin governor is the "thug" here, cloaked in the bully pulpit and disingenuous rhetoric filled with lies.

I still remember when someone yelled "kill him" when she was talking about Obama. The look on her face said it all. She has no right to complain or make any comments.

Foul!! She was asked to tone down her rhetoric when Gabrielle Giffords was recieve multiple death threat on a daily basis. She did not, instead continued to keep a target on Gifford, and we all know the result. It is much different to pursue ones belief than to use targets against people and talk about 2nd amendment solutions.

I dearly hope that no physical harm comes to anyone over these issues for several reasons. First is that life is sacred, and two it would seriously hurt the movement. It may sound paranoid, but the Right may actually be hoping for that to happen, it is the only way they could possibly stem the tide that is sweeping across Wisconsin.

    RECALLS are on the WAY!!

"The Obama administration has consistently blocked American energy production that would lower costs and create jobs in our country,"

Really? I guess that's why we're producing more oil than we have in almost a decade and more than we did for the last 5-6 years of the Bush administration, which in fact had taken the high levels of oil production under Clinton and trended them downward the ENTIRE TIME HE WAS IN OFFICE...not to mention THE ENTIRE TIME THE GOP CONTROLLED BOTH THE WH AND CONGRESS. Enough of the BS. Get serious AND HONEST about actually solving problems or get on Robespierre's list...that's the choice the GOP/Teatards have before them...no more, no less. Wanna play chicken with it? Be our guests.

How easily the Wasilla Imbecilla boils it down to "amending some collective bargaining privileges". Sorta like saying poo poo to those rights you've fought for over such a long time period.

After all the garbage that has spewed from HER mouth, some of it alluding to violence against her political opponents (Yes Sarah, will STILL remember your statements while running for VP), Palin ha NO BUSINESS commenting on Wisconsin.

Dear Sarah, why are you interferring in a problem that is not yours? You have nothing to do with this fight. You're a failed wannabe reality TV personality, remember – nothing more. You've lied, quit, shown you have no serious concept of the workings of the real world, the Constitution, the history of America or the proper use of the English language. Doo you really think anyone gives a frack what you have to say on the matter. Please, go back to clubbing fish and shooting your gun. We're sick of you.

Fascinating, when Democratic Representatives and Senators got repeated death threats from Tea Party thugs, whenever it was suggested that Palin et. al turn down the rhetoric before someone got hurt, Palin et. al reacted with a "how dare you tell me to shut up"? Yet, when people in legally constituted unions in Wisconsin have their rights unilaterally stripped from them by Republicans who openly admit that its not about fiscal austerity but campaign fundraising, NOW Palin is lecturing people to "turn down the rhetoric"?

Good luck winning the working class middle in 2012, Republicans. Insisting that middle class people must sacrifice while demanding that the top 1% of income earners sacrifice NOTHING is exactly why you will lose the election by the same numbers that you lost in 2008.
