Palin: Wisconsin union bosses 'acting like thugs'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin once again sounded off on the Wisconsin budget debate, calling on union supporters to tone down the rhetoric.

The former Alaska governor told Fox News' Sean Hannity union bosses are "acting like thugs" and it is their responsibility to "turn down the rhetoric and start getting truth out there so that nobody gets hurt."

"They are leading some of their good members down a road that will result in, unfortunately, somebody getting hurt if you believe the death threats that are being received by those who just happen to support amending some collective bargaining privileges of state unions," Palin said Thursday.

Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald received two death threats via e-mail, according to a spokesman for the senator.

After weeks of demonstrations in Madison, Wisconsin over collective bargaining rights of public sector union workers, state lawmakers passed an amended version of a bill Thursday that would limit the bargaining rights of most state workers.

In a February Facebook post, Palin encouraged union workers to stand up to their bosses.

"At the end of the day, they're not fighting for your pension or health care plan or even for the sustainability of Wisconsin's education budget," Palin wrote. "They're fighting to protect their own powerful privileges and their own political clout."

NO SARAH....... the REAL THUGS are the Republican/Teas who are attempting to destroy the Unions! YOU, Sarah, obviously care nothing for the AMERICAN WORKER!

If it were not for the American Workers who have fought for 100's of years for the safeguards and benefits of American Workers, we would not have sick-leave, unemployment benefits, healthcare, 8-hour work days, overtime pay, etc., etc.!

The Republican/Teas have managed to LIE to some Americans, about Unions! FYI UNION=AMERICAN WORKERS!
    (excuse the yelling)

Coming from a woman who uses targets on her opponents, this doesn't mean much. She's talking about deaths she has already caused.

The Democrats have never been interested in turning down THEIR rhetoric. They have become the most inflammatory and hateful group I have ever seen.

Touche! Why is the govenor trying to destroy people's RIGHT to SELF DETERMINATION, Sarah? Seems to me, you would support that priviledge if you truly believed in America. Perhaps, you are just trying to stir the pot protect your own "political clout"....however little that may be???

IS THIS WOMAN FOR REAL? I'm floored by her hubris and the speed with which she throws out her ignorant opinions and never considers whether or not they're consistent or even informed. Why do American Christians continually look to her for a Christian testimony? She's an awful person!

I believe that Palin doesn't understand that many of the stated workers in Wisconsin and other states aren't making huge amounts of money. What people haven't correctly compared is level of education and how many make the highest amounts. I know people who work in the state and still need a second job to make ends meet. I guess that Palin doesn't understand that state workers (teachers, investigators, etc) need to be represented because there could be a supervisor that toss them out without just cause. The civil service commissions are often at the whim of the governor of the state and don't alway provide protection.

My experience is that people who are anti-union fall into one of two categories. Either they do not truly understand unions or they stand to profit from subjugating their workers. Palin probably falls into both camps. She's just a talking head...

Palin! What is she doing? First of all, how do we know if it was the "UNION" people threatening people? It could be his own people pretending to do it . . . Palin, you are not here. This has been a peaceful protest by Union supports. The people acting out like children are Governor Walker and his "mobsters"! They are Union Busting for other reasons! No bid for selling Wisconsin Power Plants? Where does that bring in the "Koch" brothers . . . this was also on the Bill that they sneaked through! I'm appalled by people who don't know Wisconsin history and how the Unions played the role in bettering Wisconsin middle class workers. There were other issues in the Bill that will effect our children, seniors, women . . . because where they work insurance isn't offered and if it is, it's too high of a premium to be able to afford it! Let's get real here! I walked around the square yesterday and it brought me to tears!

The only thugs in this scenairio are the members of the Jack Boot Right who are determined to return this country to a day when people worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. What's next, children working in coal mines? The only joy I can find in this is that the people of Wisconsin are learning first hand what happens when you elect republicans. Good. You deserve all the misery you get.

  25. Enough Already

That's easy for her to say. She wants to take away union members rights while she skips all over the country racking up some big bucks. Just like a Republican it's O.K. to line the pockets of the rich; it's just the average working Joe they don't want to give anything to.
