Senior Democrat Conyers criticizes Obama

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Senior Democrat John Conyers of Michigan criticized Barack Obama Monday, hoping, Conyers said, to "make him a better president."

Citing the troubled job market, rising energy costs, and turmoil in the Middle East, the congressman told reporters at the National Press Club "We keep getting a longer and longer list of things he wanted to do, wished he could do more about, and is of course having a big problem."

I do not think President Obama can do the job of congress and be president too. It is time for congressional democrats to STFU and get to work. The dems need to stand up and let American know that they need to fire Boner in 2012.

I plan on voting for Obama, but his lack of leadership is there for all to see.

Welcome to club Conyers! What took you so long to realize and admit that Obama is an empty suit? Oh yeah, he's a Democrat, you're a Democrat, he's black, you're black... Guess reality had to rear its ugly head sooner of later. But don't you worry, there will be PLENTY of people running against him. He hasn't shown this country one good reason to be reelected.

Senator Conyers is getting older, he's already old, but he needs to sit back and let President Obama do his job. I am so tired of these FAKE democrats criticizing the President. I will definitely be keeping them in mind when voting in 2012. Conyers, you will not be one of the lucky ones!!!!

Rep. Conyers has to say something bad about the President because Conyers's state is in an especially bad economic mess. The mess was not caused by Obama, but mostly by choices made in Michigan by residents of Michigan, many of them members of unions.
I know many families from the Detroit area who are suffering.
Obama cannot fix years of bad planning overnight.
I wish Obama would tell Conyers to sit down and shut up.

conyers needs to get a grip. He is old enough to know that all of these different messes started under the shrub presidency. Congress, in particular the rethugs, are not helping the President because they throw blocks and put bumps on the road all the time.
We need for the democrats to grow a pair and stant behind the President. The rethugs circle the wagons about anything from stupidity to those traditional family values to the bible thumping. It's about time that the democrats start doing the same.

I know in politics the blame game comes in plenty. But when congress can't even settle for last fiscal years spending budget they really have no place in blaming the executive branch on things not getting done. That's like a soccer team where the forward yells at the goalie for not helping the offense.
