Palin support fading, says poll

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's favorability rating among Republicans continues to slide as the former vice presidential nominee mulls a White House bid, according to a new survey.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll released Wednesday indicates 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents give Palin high marks, a 30-point drop from her favorability rating among the same group in the weeks leading up to the 2008 presidential election. It also marks a 12-point drop from a Washington Post/ABC News poll last fall when the former Alaska governor traveled the country on behalf of a string of congressional candidates.

In what could be another ominous sign, Palin's unfavorable rating is at 37 percent in the new survey, an all time high in Washington Post/ABC News polling and a number that far surpasses that of other potential presidential candidates including Newt Gingrich (26 percent), Mitt Romney (21 percent), and Mike Huckabee (18 percent).

The former Alaska governor has said she has made no decision about a potential run for the White House and will mount a campaign if she sees a path to victory. But Palin has engaged in few behind-the-scenes maneuvers, traveled to virtually none of the key early-voting states, and has skipped high-profile conservative forums that some other potential 2012 candidates lined up to attend.

Meanwhile, a recent survey of likely Iowa caucus-goers suggested Palin's support is slipping in that key state as well: A Des Moines Register poll three weeks ago found the former Republican vice presidential nominee's favorables had slipped 6 points in the last year and a half, a number that may indicate the excitement around the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is beginning to dissipate as other likely presidential candidates have spent significantly more time there.

This Washington Post/ABC News poll was conducted March 10-13 and interviewed 414 Republicans and Republican-leaners by telephone. It carries a sampling error is five percentage points.

Is it just me, or does CNN's favorite online headline seem to have become, "(insert controversial item here) Raises Brows"?

I do wonder why it has taken them so long to understand that what Sen. McCain presented to them in a hurry was a big liability. And those who are still clinging on her need to be educated more on what they know about her.

Sarahs plan is obvious. She has no plan to enter the race. She's not going to key states. Shes going where the "speech money" is. Her favorable rating started slipping about a year ago, yet she makes no effort to sell herself to voters, but rather goes to where her fan base is. It's an age-old game perpetrated on the dumb masses by every snake oil salesman in history; preach to the choir, then pass the hat.

Oh darn, please don't fade away Sarah, you're the only comic relief I have.
She won't run, she knows she will never be President. Anyway, her goal has been met, she's sucked all the money from her blind followers.

Soon people, very soon this woman will talk herself into oblivion. Now maybe we can hope for the same with Bachmann.

Simple reason for the difference between pre-election 2008 and now. Back then she was the only choice they had, but now they have plenty of other bad choices for candidates that aren't quite as bad... as ignorant, smug, and corrupt as Sarah Pale Imitation of a Good Candidate.

This women is totally out of her depth anyway. She is just a media sweetheart. No real brains. No big loss.

Sarah wants to be a TV star and not President. Her challenge is that it is the "will she run" question that is allowing her to be a TV star.

Once it's clear she will not run or cannot run win if she does, then her ability to remain a TV star will slowly fade. Just a classic case of trying to have it both ways. It won't last.

Caribou Barbie, the former half-term Governor, current FOX fake reality show star is way too busy fleecing the flock and raising money for the ‘Baggers to actually be the President. She’ll just wink and blink and shake her empty head so the cash will keep rolling in! No need to get involved with those messy facts and figures when your target audience has an attention span of about 10 seconds.

Starting to fade? Her 15% of hillbillies will never make her anything more than she already is. If it wasn't for the sick fascination of the media she would have faded back to AK on November of 2008!
If your blogs are any indication NOBODY likes her except jeff from AL and maybe five more bloggers. While we are a small number most of the educated people in the US and around the world feel the same way we do.
Somebody get her some Valium or psychiatric help because she is going to crash really hard when there are no more stupid stories about her twitter and/or facdbook account(s). :). :).

58% of Americans continue to be brain dead! Only in America does a percentage of it's people support a quitter and a loser. Once again thanks John 'Senile' McCain for unleashing this worthless money grubbing pimple upon us.

Running for office is work, shilling for FOX and pushing ghost-written books is not. Plain and simple, she's lazy, and we are seeing more proof every day( as if we needed any more after her resignation and quitting her own reality show after one season). Who would run for president when you can make a pile of money by simply spouting nonsense?

Of course she's not going to run... she's making more money doing speaking engagements and as a talking head on FOX, and gets to pull puppet strings among her followers now, why go through all the crap to try to get a nomination?

What a stupid, non-story! 58 percent give her high marks?! If this were about Obama the headline would be "Majority still loves Obama!", but with Sarah somehow you make it a negative. Libs and journalists just can't stand a successful woman with a strong moral compass.....but the public loves her. It's so satisfying to see the libs lash out. I say go, Sarah, go!

She has skipped going to key states and forums because she is incapeable of speaking with any intelligence and knowledge, except for Bachman, another loser, and the public will see her for what she really is-a circus huckster selling snake oil.

How many people have you heard say "I am starting to like Sarah Palin" ? Palin has a base and beyond that she has no appeal to gain more supporters. She has nothing new to offer anyone and everytime she speaks Palin lessens her chances of gaining new supporters. Sarah is the least likely or capable person of all the possible candidates that could build support beyond her base, she is simply not cut out to be a viable candidate.

Finally, most people are beginning to see a clear picture of her deceptions. Palin’s propaganda slogans, lies and destructive comments are so outrages that even fox is disappointed.

She doesn't care about support for a presidential run. She is just trying to make as much money as she can before the GOP announce their choice.

Michelle Bachman will be the next to hit the downward spiral. When anyone gets into the politican spotlight everything the say is covered. Once soemthing stupid has been said, it's everywhere, including youtube. These women are certainly not the best at being politically intelligent. If you put Sarah and Michelle's brains on the edge of a razor blade they would look like 2 peas rolling down a 4 lane highway.
