McCain gets cast

(CNN) - Casting continues for HBO's upcoming movie "Game Change," based on the bestselling book that chronicled the 2008 presidential campaign.

Four-time Oscar-nominated actor Ed Harris is set to play John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, according to a release from HBO.

Julianne Moore was cast this month as Sarah Palin, McCain's running mate in the last election.

HBO said the film will focus on McCain's losing campaign. Time Warner is the parent company of CNN and HBO.

I am surprised that ANYONE would want to be the impersonator for such a person as MCCAIN. this guy a one time hero has turned out to be the laughing stock of the country. You can not find anyone except himself that has anything positive to say about this guy. He wasn't a good military man and is the laughing stock of politicians and comedians.

John McCain opened Pandora's box and unleashed Hell on us (aka Sarah Palin), please Arizona, vote this old fool out of office as soon as you can.

He's just such a piece of garbage to America that he's no longer an issue.

    Flush him - now.......

Sorry Ed, but you need to look a lot more hopeless and demented if you want to play McCain.

Oh it's all politics.........will be ready for release just before the 2012 election – and of course it will have a liberal slant to it. Of course. This is not a movie that will garner alot of money because not alot of people are going to go watch it. What other reason would there be, to spend money on this?

Looks like Harris is going to need to put on a bunch of pounds ... but he can act crazy at least.

Ed Harris has a distinct advantage over John McCain. At least he is electable.

McCain lost my support when he and his campaign staff lied about the vetting process for Sarah Palin. When McCain introduced Palin in Dayton, Ohio he and his staff stated that the FBI had vetted Palin. The following Monday, the FBI released a press statement, announcing that the FBI never vets political candidates. As the backpedaling continued, it was clear that Palin was a third or fourth level choice, and it seemed to me that Palin was pushed at McCain, and he failed to push back. The rest is history.

Ed Harris is fine actor, but he has the opposite chipmunk cheeks of McCain. He needs "Godfather" padding in them to approximate McCain's face.

HBO is showing its liberal bias as they do with the Bill Maher Show. It will be nothing but a bash of Palin and sticking a thorn in McCains eye. I will not watch it, as I did not watch the liberal bias of the Ronald Regan movie a few years back.

I read the book and it was very interesting. Why a movie? Still trying to figure this one out. The only good thing about the movie, if they stay true to the book, is that it will show how underhanded mccain's campaign was and their "reason/excuse" for picking the imbecilic morong from AK. It also has a lot of inside information on how stupid this woman is and how somebody thought her hair was on fire before some clueless speech.

The HELL with who's playing McCain or the failing PA'IN – Who's playing President Obama?????? That would be the MAIN reason why I watch the film – Maybe they will use REAL footage of President Obama and he will play himself!!

I like Ed Harris!!! He is doing a JUSTICE for McCain!! Good choice!!!

Is Ed Harris trying to play every guy who was involved in the Keating 5 scandal??
He already played John Glen, now McCain...the difference between the two being that John Glen could actually fly planes without crashing 4 of them and being shot down once...

Ed Harris is a wonderful actor. That's why he's so successful.
Mr. Harris could probably portray a senator much better than Senator McCain does.
