Critics hit Obama on speech but White House says he delivered

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Pushing back on criticism that President Obama did not deliver a clear message Monday on the end game in Libya, White House spokesman Jay Carney insisted the speech was “very clear about what our mission was.”

Ticking off a series of U.S. policy goals detailed by the president, Carney added “what we’ve accomplished in a short period of time, the lives that have been saved, the remarkable effort to build a coalition and take action in just 31 days and now make that transition from a U.S. lead military mission to NATO lead mission.”

we should never have went into libya. if we did not go into darfur why should we go into libya. the president was wrong in his speech. it is not about the young people it is about oil. I wish he would of been truthful. we should not pick and choose
about who we should save and who we shouldn't.

The president did a great job. Building a coalition is a necessary part of any objectives, much like G.H.W. Bush did in Iraq. Hopefully we have seen the end of the republican 'go it alone, cowboy diplomacy.' America is once again being viewed favorably in the world community.

The President was spectacular, and idiot-proof clear.
Please. Stop. He's bested you once again, on this subject and innumerable others.
Very proud of our President. Very proud to be an American under his presidency.
    Obama 2012.

The critics would have hit President Obama regardless of what he said. They had already formed their opinion before President Obama even gave the speech. In fact For the past two years and counting, the critics already know that if President Obama is for it, they are against it.

Critics can't stand a president that makes sense and speaks to us like adults!

He should be impeached. His first speech on the mission and going into Libya stated we did not lead – how can you hand the lead to someone else if you never had it? I want to start a class action suit against him for financial mismagement of public funds (bombs, planes and money cost millions) and loss of confidence, failure to uphold federal law (border control/immigration)besides all the lies he has told since being sworn into office I only have to wait until after Nov 2012!!

All things considered, I don't see how someone could deal with Libya any better. The president nailed it!!!
