Trump warns of 'greatest scam' ever

(CNN) – It's official: Donald Trump is a "birther." But he'd prefer you don't use that term.

Speaking to MSNBC Thursday, the business mogul and improbable presidential candidate reiterated much of what he has said in the last several days when it comes to doubting President Obama's birthplace, declaring, "I am embracing the issue, and I'm proud of the issue. I think somebody has to embrace it."

Trump, who in the last two weeks has raised the debunked issue on several programs, added he finds the term "birther" downright insulting.

"I don't like the name birther," he said. "I think it's very unfair and derogatory to a lot of good people that happen to think there is a possibility that this man was not born in this country."

Trump added he will continue to press the issue because, "If it were true, it'd be the greatest scam in the history of this country."

I used to admire Mr. Trump for his shrewd business successes. A large portion of his successes have come through clever, ruthless or merciless dealings. This man is no stranger to designing a startup company that will eventually declare bankruptcy, which leaves potential investors and creditors stuck in the proverbial mud. Case in point, his bragging about how he duped Khaddafi.

As he continues his rhetoric, remember where this man comes from. Jamaica, Queens, New York. He come from Archie Bunker's borough, but he is no Archie. Archie was a proud working man. Mr. Trump is a proud business man.

I think Bill Maher summed it up perfectly on his show. I can't see myself staying in another Trump establishment or gambling in one of his casinos. Now when I hear the name Trump, BIRTHER is the first thing that comes to mind. Way to lose ALL of your cool points Don.

Perfect. I hope many of the GOP candidates concentrate on the birth certificate issue to get to the truth. Hell with jobs, the unemployed, 3 wars, wall street meltdowns, housing meltdowns, etc. The #1 issue is Obama's birth certificate!

Obama is a fraud. He can't produce a ligit birth certificate, can't produce his academic records, didn't write his books, and was financed (at Harvard) by Saudi Arabia.

I don't agree with Trump, but at least he has the courage to speak out what everyone thinks.

Okay, plainly Obama will not release the original birth certificate because he doesn't WANT to settle this issue. The more he plays coy, the crazier and sillier-looking his opposition gets!

If this is the most important issue The Donald can bring up, his run for the presidency will be an even bigger failure than the Atlantic City casino that pushed him into bankruptcy. Of course, it might last a bit longer than it should because his bank account is almost as his ego.

Trump is an arrogant narcissist who has to have constant media attention. He could care less about running for President, he is just making stupid statements to get attention. He should be ignored just like the rest of the birthers. Birthers are ignorant, uneducated, racists who just cannot accept we have a brilliant BLACK President who is doing an incredible job for America and is a strong decisive leader. Best President we have had due to his character, morals, integrity, honesty, and love and concern for ALL Americans.
Trump is a cheat who has to pay to have someone to marry him and put up with his twisted personality. If he were a true patriot he would be paying his taxes so America could recover from the Bush years of destruction and financial ruin.

But it's not true, so move on, Trump. If you were as smart as you say you are, you wouldn't be delving into this issue that had long been debunked.

We still don't know if Trump is a native born citizen. When will he bring us the real birth certificate?

Yes, because the president's family totally thought they'd get a birth certificate for their son in case one day he grew up to be president...greatest scam ever!

Trump is just upset because he wants to pull of the biggest scam in American History. "This man" Mr. Trump, is your president and you should show some respect. May your wig become infested with a million fleas you windbag.

Wow, Is this how Trump wants to go down in history, as a buffoon? Is he really that much of an ego maniac that any headline, no matter how ridiculous, is something he is chasing after? It's not possible to hide where you were born from everyone in a Presidencial race, the Clinton's pulled out all the stops and they would have blasted it to the world if President Obama was not an American born citizen. After all the evidence that points directly to his birth in Hawaii, the burdon on proof should be on the "birthers" to prove that Obama wasn't born in Hawaii and so far no one can do that, so just in that case they should just drop it already...even bill o'reilly, who can't stand President Obama, condemns the "birthers" as that's saying

ok thats it, call me a conspiracy theorist i dont care. I think Donald Trump, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman and others are all working for Obama and are "running for president" as a way to make the GOP look bad and make Obama's re election easier. I just dont believe that these lunatics would really be acting like this under normal circumstances. They HAVE to be hired by Obama, people just cant be this dumb in real life, im sorry. They are all hired by Obama to run against him so he will win re election by a landslide.

Trump is a joke. He has no chance of winning the presidency. The legitimate republican contenders don't question Obama's birthplace, because the issue was resolved a long time ago. An official copy of Obama's birth certificate - the same thing Trump would have to prove his own birth - has been available and online for more than three years. Donald is shooting himself in the foot. And poor Trump thinks the term "birther" is derogatory. LOL. The term is quite fair and probably not harsh enough. Anyone that thinks Obama was not born in Hawaii is simply ignorant. I'm an independent, but I would never vote for a "birther." I can't believe people are still talking about this.

This isssue is really spiraling out of control. Obama should shows some Presidential Leadership, publish his birth certificate for all to see, and let that end the issues. I've thought this was pretty much nonsense, but for Obama to let it go on and on is beginning to make it looks like he has something to hide?

The Dems have their idiots too, but the Tea Party are 100% wackos. Nonsensical logic, total absence of knowledge of history, how the economy works makes it clear they are just a tool. They are being manipulated by their prejudices, their racism, their fear of a changing world, and their fear of hippies taking over the world. Just read the really dumb stuff they espouse on these blogs and by the way they promote political positions that are clearly against their own self-interest. These Birthers can not argue using reason, so they resort to this kind of insidious crap.

The President of the United States does not need to respond to these Nuts, nor should he respond to every nut out there that has a made-up, silly issue.

TRUMP NEEDS TO MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS AND BIRTHPLACE. Why are you so worried about Obama, you don't have
enough common sense to beat him in the Presidential Elections, or anything else for that matter. Just because you have a lot
of money doesn't mean you can rule the world. So sit your old self down and enjoy your grand kids. GET A HAIR CUT

"If it were true, it'd be the greatest scam in the history of this country." You could say that about a lot of things. If GWB was an alien, it'd be the greatest scam in the history of this country! If Sarah Palin was revealed to be a man in drag, it'd be the greatest scam in the history of this country! If Hillary decided to give up politics and join the cast of a Broadway musical, it'd be the greatest scam in the history of this country! There's no denying it would be a huge, massive problem for the country, but just because it would be a "great scam" if something was true doesn't make it true in the first place.

So its easier for Trump and the birthers to believe that an 18 year old, nine month pregnant woman, left the country flying to Kenya without a passport. Then gave birth to a baby, and flew back to America without a passport for her or her baby.

That makes a whole lot of sense, it is so clear, it makes so much sense now. This also disregards the fact that she was an American citizen..........

Who does it surprise that trump is a birther? He will soon become irrelevant to the republitard party so he has to build his own support base of the stupid and the ignorant.

Here's the birther issue for what it is.

It is a carefully crafted conversation designed to be a "win-win" for whomever picks up the ball and challenges Mr. Obama to produce a document that reads "birth certificate". Those exact words, that exact phrase is what the argument is all about.

Guess what? Mr. Obama will not do that because he is not able to do it. The "live birth" document is what was produced at the time. The State of Hawaii did not create documents that stated "birth certificate". Don't forget, the state was just getting used to its' walking legs as a new state, anyway.

Most states charge a significant fee for a nice pretty calligraphied "birth certificate" suitable for framing. Most people do not have such a document. You must special order it from your local goverment. This explains the "mistake" Mr. Trump had when he initially released a document that was not a "birth certificate" at all.

Mr. Trump knows that it is impossible for Mr. Obama to produce a similar document because they are not, and have never been released by the "State of Hawaii". Any such document would not pass the sniff test and be rightfully deemed as suspect, if not a forgery. And there is your "win-win", and why this silly conversation continues.
