Jesse Ventura: Palin will 'do what she's told'

(CNN)–Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura says Sarah Palin will be the GOP nominee for president in 2012, and she'll "be controlled by the status quo."

Appearing on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" Monday at 9 p.m. EST, the one-term Reform Party governor said that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is being groomed for the role, though he doesn't care who the presidential nominees are for either party.

"I'm an equal opportunity despiser," he stated in a post-interview green room Q&A, making his disdain for both parties known.

"It seems that elections today are more popularity than they are substantial issues and she'd be perfect because she's the type of person that certainly will be controlled by the status quo and the power structure, so she'd make a perfect candidate for them," the WWE wrestling Hall of Famer-turned-politician declared.

Let's hope he is wrong about Palin. And she never does what she is told. If she runs, Obama will win but the thought of her being nominated for president sickens me.

From one idiot to another. I never want to set foot in Minnesota. What a state of whacko's, from this guy to Michelle Bachmann. Exceeded only by the state of Alaska.

Jesse, all those hits you took in the wrestling ring are finally showing symptoms. Sarah Palin will NEVER run for president. NEVER. She will NEVER expose herself to tough, unscreened questions from journalists, and she will NEVER agree to debate any other candidates. She may be stupid, but she has great survival instincts. A run for the presidency would expose her as a fraud and end the extended 15 minutes of fame that has made her so wealthy. Furthermore, she would NEVER agree to to EVER do what she was told, even by people who are experts. Time to tap out, Jesse.

Palin will not be the GOP nominee and she can't be controlled. She is a loose cannon who keeps digging her own grave. Ventura is way out in left field on this one!

I would love to think Jesse Ventura is right about Palin. It would be great for Obama to run against that Bimbo in 2012! Somehow though, even though they are now controlled by right wing conservatives, I think even the Republican Party would see what a disaster that would be for them. And then again ...... ?

Controlled? She can't control her own mouth for 5 minutes at a time! If she becomes POTUS, I will become Canadian!

Well it's silly season after all, so might as well ask one of the silliest politicians of all time what his utterly irrelevant position is.

He's right. She will do what she is told because she can't think for herself. She and Eric Cantor should run. They could pass laws by themselves. No need for the Senate , House, or President to sign as per the Constitution. Which they claim to know so much about.

I doubt that Palin will be nominated, the GOP has gone off the "deep end", but I believe that the Party has more sense than to nominated this "looney".

After Regan and GWB, Palin would be the best President “money can buy”! But, hopefully the American voter will not be so stupid to go down that road again. Not when they have a great President to keep in office!

He is right. It would be easy for the Republican power structure to control her, particulary because
she would not know how to be a President so she would rely on others to tell her what to do.
However, I don't think she will run because I think she knows shw would never win and she is making a lot
    of money now.

A one time wonder of a governor & ex-pro wrestler making a prediction about a not even a one time governor but a QUITTER – wow we Americans certainly have interesting talking heads to listen to on tv! However, I too despise both parties equally and until we actually get rid of both of the parties that are in power and start over with people who serve in the best interest of ACTUAL AMERICAN CITIZEN TAXPAYERS (people who actually pay taxes) we are doomed. For those of you who believe that that is what the Tea Party is about think again – that isn't the answer either – Tea Party is just Republican Party on Sterioids = part of the problem not part of the solution!

Oh no she wont Jesse...that is the beauty of Palin...

But I have to admit that once you accept that Palin is really nothing more than a person who really only wants attention and that she will say anything and do anything for that attention, she starts to grow on you...

...not that she will get more votes or anything, but she's more like that old crazy lady that lives down the street from you and comes out often to yell at the clouds...

What would make Ventura announce that Palin will be nominated just as her approval ratings are dropping so precipitously, even among republicans? He must be afflicted by the same disease that suddenly turned Trump into a birther.

There may have been a time when "popularity" was a major factor. However, thanks to cable news and the internet, IMO more voters are truly "listening and learning". I sincerely hope so anyway-there is far too much at stake!
