Gingrich: Obama to 'extort contributions'

(CNN) - Likely 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich reacted to President Obama's reelection announcement Monday, accusing him of trying to "extort contributions" from supporters.

"Here's a president who 18 months before the election is going to use his office to extort contributions on a scale we've never seen before," Gingrich said in New Hampshire where he addressed the Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College in Manchester. "He's in effect trying to create a Chicago style machine for the whole country with a billion dollars."

President Obama launched his official reelection bid with a video Monday using the slogan "It begins with us" and sources told CNN Obama's campaign team hopes their bundlers will raise $500 million, leaving the campaign to raise another $500 million to amass a $1 billion war chest.

"It's not about us, it's about the money and it's about the president's ability to coerce and run over the American people by building a machine so big nobody can challenge him," Gingrich said.

But the former Republican House Speaker said Obama can still be beat.

"I don't believe he can raise enough money to hide from the American people," Gingrich said. "I believe in the end there will be a debate, in the end it will be clear in October of next year how big the difference is and I think frankly he'll be a one-term president."

Given the "cause" of Newt's past sexual indiscretions, the most pressing question facing the nation is "Could any woman possibly feel safe if Gingrich is elected President?" A man working that hard and loving his country that much is just bound to go on a wild sexual rampage . . . and who could blame him? But, please, let's protect the country and keep Gingrich as far from the White House as possible.

Even in 2004, none of the Democrats running for office said anything nearly so fatuous and disrespectful about GWB, though he deserved it. Now, listen to the actual Republican and Tea Party candidates viciously snarling about Obama every chance they get. You may think it's because they're sincere and earnest and believe everything they're saying, but I take it as a sign that they're desperate to keep hold of or get back ahold of power, and recognize that a lot of the changes Obama's made were a) inevitable and they know they were on the losing end (repeal of DADT, eventual end of DOMA), b) better in the long run for the country than anything they'd come up with themselves, c) the same thing they'd have done themselves (Libya, long-term troop withdrawal from Afghanistan/Iraq), if only they didn't think it was more important to distance themselves from Obama at the expense of doing good bipartisan work. There is literally no tactic too low for them to employ – keeping power is the ONLY thing they want. They will sabotage the delicate balance of social forces (de-funding Planned Parenthood in the name of short-term cost savings, at the certain expense of HIGHER long-term costs in the form of more welfare babies, more crime, an ever-growing underclass) if it means they can gain a single political point against Obama. I used to think Gingrich was at least not stupid, but after this and several other recent things he's said, I no longer care whether he's stupid, average, smart, or super-genius – he's not trustworthy, he doesn't have the real best interests of every citizen in the country at heart, and he doesn't deserve higher office.

So when "W" announced his relection in May 2003, 18 months before the general, did Mr. Morality pipe up and say that Bush was extorting money from his supporters? Hiprocrisy does not even begin to describe what this reprobate is all about. Keep flapping yuour mouth Newt, it only helps the democrats.

Extortion is a clear crime - and always has been. If Gingrich and his cohorts have any evidence of it taking place, it is their responsibility to report it to the appropriate police.

If they have no such evidence, then SHUT UP. It is very wrong to accuse someone of a crime when you know that no such crime exists.

In the end, this is all so much Republican hyperbole.

Ask the college students on Pell Grants how they will vote. Include in that questioneer how military familites feel about a government shut-down and missing a payday. Oh, they promise the paycheck eventually, but not right away. Guarantee Boehner and friends won't miss a meal nor paycheck.

Obama didn't need to announce early his reelection bid to make money......this man will get enough money to sink the GOP and for no other reason than because the GOP is proving they don't have what it takes to run this country.....they are running scared becasue the Tea Party has them by the Balls and they are running scared because they don't have a decent canidate running for 2012 White House bid and the more idiots that keep jumping into the race makes the GOP look pretty stupid....all they have to run on is to try to put this president down.....no solutions for this country....just more wars.....and they want to cut the budget......if they had their way we would have ground troops in Libya already....and in Korea and in Iran and any other country they think need be....all the while crying cut the programs for our less fortunate.....and give it to others in another country......cut social security and medicare and put our elderly out in the streets while we go to war and give all our money to the people they keep calling terrorist....the muslum countries....they are so phoney.......2012 all who elected Obama will be back in great numbers and he will be elected again........
