Washington (CNN) - If life (and politics) sometimes seems stuck in the ninth grade, the recent gyrations between the White House and congressional Republicans is a perfect case in point. The topic: averting a government shutdown. The meeting: on Capitol Hill between House GOPers and Senate Democrats.

He challenged President Obama to "start acting like a leader" in a rant against the failure to reach a budget agreement.
Broun also denied that accusing the president of socialism last January equals name calling, saying instead, "It is just pointing out a fact. The president, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama believe the federal government should do everything for everybody. They believe in a socialistic Washington-controlled government that tells everybody what kind of health care we can have, what kind of light bulbs we can have."
